Gun Carry in The GEN 6?? Ideas

Gun Carry place?
In my Gen 5 there was a nice slot just under the steering wheel for my 9mm in a Sneaky Pete's holster. Still haven't found any place in the Gen 6. Anybody have helpful ideas

Arg! Trying to find a decent 30 round mag for the mini 30 is next to impossible. Anyone have any solid info on a mag that works? Ruger won't even answer the question if they are going to eventually make one. Promag seems to be the only one who at least makes one but i don't see any good reviews.

Signed,

Any one here have experience with a knights armament sr-25 pattern rifle?
I'm considering selling some of my other guns and picking one up. If not I'm looking at the daniel defense 308.

If you are going to drop the coin on an SR25, take a look at the LMT MWS. You can change calibers on it with a barrel and bolt change. The UK Ministry of Defense adopted it as the L129A1 if that tells you anything.

I have one in .308 and one in 6.5 Creedmoor.

See the thing is I really do like the lmt, I know it has a proven track record but at 10.5lbs unloaded with no optic the thing is a pig. While I'm still considering it, I'd like to start with a lighter rifle if possible. The kac and DD are around 8lbs starting.

How do you like the 6.5 though?

You are correct, they aren't light but other than carrying it around, I doubt you'd be shoulder firing any of them much.

The .308 (bought used) has such a nice trigger pull in it, I contacted the previous owner and asked him what trigger was in it and he said it was the stock LMT 2-stage. He said when he first pulled the trigger, he had to check to make sure it wasn't a Geissele in it. I put a gauge on it and it is 5-5.5# and very smooth. Not as smooth as the SSA-E in the 6.5 gun but as smooth a factory trigger I've used.

I've owned both for two months and haven't put any rounds through them yet. I keep "missing" my shooting outings because things keep interfering. I've acquired several different types of ammunition and also components to reload for both of them.

Another to consider is a LaRue OBR. A 3rd Special Forces Group sniper team just won an international sniper challenge using LaRue rifles.

A funny story. A ladie at work told me her 23 year old nephew who is a former marine, asked to take her 15 year old son shooting. She said no because she thought he would show him something bad because he was gung ho and too young. She knew i was an avid shooter and said she would let him go with me because i was older, more mature and probably more expierienced with guns.

I said ok, and i sent her a pic of my M30 tactical rifle with a folding stock, front hand grip and Vortex red dot sight. She saw the gun and said no again, even after she told me what she said earlier. The gun looked scary to her and didnt want her son shooting a military gun. Ok, so i sent her a pic of the same gun but this time it had a beautiful multi colored stock with a large scope on the top. Intended for hunting.

Last i sent her a pic of the same gun, but this time it was the ranch version, stripped down with no bells or whistles. Finally i get an "ok" with still a little reluctance, but i did get a yes. So i broke the news to her. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME GUN!

She thought that i was trying to make her look dumb, but when in fact i was showing her how people see a tricked out gun as a bad weapon that's going to kill people. I told her all three weapons could kill in the same way but it's the person behind the weapon that makes it bad, not the gun itself. Just like a knife or a bat. Those things have been used but no one tries to ban those. My guns are harmless unless you try to hurt my family. I think she now has a better understanding. Thought I'd share.

That is a great story PHXLT1

Most people only believe what they are conditioned to believe. Until some one takes the time to do a little factual reprograming

My wife is Canadian EH.....you should have seen her face years ago when I told her I was going to get a couple guns I had as a kid.

Now she is right in line with the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Just like most Americans think Canadian health care is great......my wife is like what, it is terrible. As I found out having to pay to have her mom brought down into the states for good medical treatment.

My latest.

We got our boy a "Chia Zombie Head" a year ago for Christmas. After the "hair" died, he wanted to shoot it. I suggested we fill it with some red Jello first.

I set up a camera on a tripod, set it to 240 fps, and let my boy shoot the Chia head with a 9mm High Point 995.
The video is pretty poor quality, but it was fun. After the first "shot" in the video, skip to 40 seconds in to see it slowed down again in Movie Maker to .125 of the original.
