Talking Greetings from Canada, near Oshawa, her new ZL1

My wife should be the member, but she doesn't go online much. I thought you guys would like this story

She retired from GM a few months ago, she worked in Oshawa, having worked for GM 30+ years. She worked on the Camaro assembly line. I got to go with her on her last day of work, here's a pic from that day too.

As a retirement gift for her, searching... and found the very last available new ZL1 Camaro in Canada sitting on a dealer's lot in Calgary, and we just received it last Tuesday. She got a great deal on it, employee discount, etc., she traded in her C5 Corvette towards it. The dealer salesperson Frank Ventura from GSLGMCity in Calgary was a great help arranging the deal.

Welcome aboard, it is a husbands responsibility to ensure the safety of the wife at all times. Therefore you sir need to drive that Camaro for a couple of weeks just to make sure all is good. LOL!

Thanks, I had to thank that teacher. Here's an old pic of Lisa's previous Camaro, 5.7L IROC-Z, pic from 22 years ago, time flies.... Horsepower increase over the years is surreal, looking at my old Dodge truck in this pic, today, my 2015 GMC All Terrain truck has the 420 hp 6.2L, to be parked alongside her ZL1, the new pair would be 1000 hp.

E-Ray, I bet I'll be spending more time cleaning it for her than getting to drive it! I do have some envy of you guys, the Camaro is a great looking car.

Cheers,
Mike

Congrats on your retirement Lisa, and thank you for your contribution with building these fine cars!
Very nice looking ZL1, especially when there is still a wrapper on some items. Enjoy!

Welcome to C5!

I'll be hanging out the forum now and then for tips, this a great Camaro club, lots of great members and cars, often lurked it when we were doing the 2014 Camaro refresh, as I once worked at GM as a Design Release Engineer, and was responsible for the hood extractor for the SS and Z/28, got to know the Camaro / GM Performance folks, it was a highlight in my career, one of the best group of car guys I worked with in my career.

Happy wife = happy life!

We can't take it out, we had ice storm yesterday!, so she's sitting in the garage waiting for warm weather.

Cheers,
Mike

Nice car. Congrats!

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
