Sooo jealous.. I want that cam so bad.. I plan to do the oil pump along with chain if I go into it for sure.. no point not to imho especially with the issues some pumps have. Just peace of mind.

get a real Katech C5R chain. just get it through Katech. It comes in a clear plastic bag not a red box and stamped JWIS. IWIS has a chain with the same part number but its not the same. Get a Melling 10295 pump. you dont need a High volume that everyone uses. get a LS7 chain damper. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cl...n2AaAhE98P8HAQ

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

I went with the katech timing chain from Brian Tooley racing, it's the legit chain. I chose the Melling 10296 pump though, and I'm glad I did because it's higher pressure and higher volume. So far everything is going well, no leaks and oil pressure is fantastic. I went ahead and upgraded every gasket though, along with the cam kit.

This was my parts list:

*TSP 235/239 Cam
*PRC .660 Dbl Springs
*Lunati Valve Seals
*Cam Thrust Plate W/New Gasket
*Katech C5R Timing Chain
*LS2 Timing Damper
*Melling 10296 Oil Pump
*Comp Trunnion upgrade
*ARP Crank Bolt
*Water Pump Gasket
*Timing Cover Gasket
*Front main seal
*Valve Cover Gaskets
*3 gear cam sprocket
*ARP cam bolts
*Hardened Pushrods
*NGK 55's spark plugs

So far I love it, best mod for my car was the cam. Note that I don't daily drive it, so drivability isn't an issue for me.

You have the LS3 so I would recommend replacing it with a Melling. I went with the 10296 which is more volume where the 10295 is higher pressure. Either way replace your stocker. And as said before get yourself Katech C5R timing chain. You can also order your parts through Brian Tooley Racing. Also replace you chain tensioner (its been known to break) with the LS2 dampner.

C5R Timing Chain:

Oil Pump:

10295--- http://www.briantooleyracing.com/mel...ump-10295.html

LS2 dampner--- http://www.briantooleyracing.com/che...-12588670.html

both pumps come with the stock pressure spring in the box. The problems not with the pressure or volume. Its the bypass sticking on the stock pump. The high volume does take a little more power to pump the extra capacity. That will cost you a little fuel mileage. Enough to notice probably not. but the 295 pump is $35 cheaper

Since you are in there already I would replace them. We do with every cam package we do here at the shop. Like most have already stated the Ketech chain and Melling pump are the best ones out there. We trust them .

Let us know if we can help out.

Cool. I'll be overseas for a year in a bit, here so, when I get back, I'm going to put some serious consideration into a cam. Drivability is very important to me, as well. My car is a daily and will likely never see track time. What's your drivetrain like? Mostly stock still? Flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, gears, differential, suspension, etc?
