I think I'm going to buy a cam setup and install it myself.

Very nice! Any idea what you'll do for a cam?

Either a GPI Ss2 or SS3 with a 3200 or 3600 stall. Probably more towards the ss3 with a 3600

Very nice that'll give you some decent gains lol would you do the VVT cam or an LS3 conversion with it?

Keep in mind you're going to have to do an AFM delete at minimum...

It seems like the GPI VVT SS1 cams are stout performers..stock drivability, stock stall and throwing down 450 WHP on stock heads..

VVT cam for sure, of course afm delete, and phase limiter, probably upgrade trunion and change lifters and oil pump.

Stock converter sucks, stall is life.

I've been doing tons of research into this since it's the route I'll eventually be going...seems like just swapping out all the lifters with LS7 units is the way to go. While the heads are off also putting in hollow valves with new springs.

Also...debating if I want to spend the extra for the 2SS...I can always add in a Katzkin kit with their heated and cooling tech, upgrade the speakers and such...pretty much the only thing I would be giving up is the ambient lighting and the HUD..

1SS cars tend to be cheaper and probably a bit lighter.

When I ordered my car I really just wanted the HUD. I drove a 99 c5 vette with it and fell in love with the HUD. I knew my car had to have the HUD and leather and the 2SS had it.

3rd for the hud. Especially at my height. The top of the steering wheel cuts in front of the speedometer, so i can't even see half of it. I use the hud instead.
