Just Ordered a 2SS Nightfall Metallic Gray!

First, I would like to thank all of the forum members who have given their knowledge, experience, and opinions regarding all of the various aspects of the Gen 6! I have spent many hours reading here on the forum and you helped me make the right decision!

Yesterday, I went to the dealership and ordered a 2016 2SS nightfall Metallic Gray 6MT. Options include Black 5 spoke wheels, NPP, MRC, Black Bow Ties, and Metallic Black Rally Stripes. Pricing was fairly simple as I qualify for GM employee pricing (Thanks Grandma... still kicking it on Facebook around age 90!). We'll see how long it takes to come in, but the wait is going to be worth it. I'm a patient person, so unless we start going past the 3 month mark, I'll be content waiting.

I'm about 30 years old, and to say this is a step up from my previous rides would be an understatement. My first car at age 16 was a 1990 Buick Skylark with the infamous Iron Duke. I had that from 2001-2007, during college. It did its job well, but did leave me stranded a few times in a parking lot. Next car was a family hand me down 1996 Pontiac Bonneville which blew the intake manifold after about 3 months of owning it, hydrolocking the engine. After leaving me broke trying to fix it, I didn't have many options for a car as I was in graduate school at the time. I used my GM employee discount to get a new car, a 2007 Aveo. I'll be honest, it has actually been a fairly good car to me. No major problems in the 9 years I have owned it, never left me stranded, good gas mileage. But by no definition a nice car. I also recently purchased a 1996 C2500 with 100k miles and in great shape, and my wife has a Honda Fit.

So now I'll be stepping up quite a bit... 2007 Aveo to 2016 Camaro 2SS! I'll be honest, the 2016 Camaro wasn't really on my radar when the pictures and specs were released last year. I went to the Detroit Auto Show last year and the GT350 really stood out. But the limited allocation and dealer markups weren't something I was interested in dealing with. The new Camaro started growing on me, and the reviews sealed the deal. The new Camaro SS gives you nearly the same performance for quite a bit less money. I am definitely compromising practicality and visibility, but it should be worth it!

Anybody else upgrade or upgrading their ride to this degree?

Welcome aboard, my last vehicle was a 2015 Colorado, before that was a 2013 Grand Sport Corvette, before that was a 2013 Camaro ZL1. I'm too old to remember any longer.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
