Fenwick, how well do you think the new Honda Ridgeline will perform in terms of sales? Will buyers be turned-off by its unibody? I've never owned a pickup truck so I'm not sure if that matters.

The Honda faithful will be sure to buy, and it'll pull sales from folks looking for the utility of a truck without needing all the capability. As far as conquest sales? I don't see many. It would need a super compelling reason to buy over the current crop of midsize trucks, and so far it doesn't have one.

They should do the Commodore Sport Wagon along side the SS sedan when it goes out of production, when it eventually goes out (2017?). The wagon with an LS3 and manual trans would be fantastic.

Road and Track is claiming a 4.2L Twin-Turbocharged V8 for CT6.

Well, there's one new powerplant in the mix....Maybe it will be the missing link used for the 6thGen Z/28....

Why would they use a forced induction, small displacement, (presumably) DOHC engine making only 'upper 400s' in the Z/28? The most basic of tweaks to the LT1 ought to get just as much power, out of a lighter engine, for thousands less with the added bonus of no heat-soak.


To me, this sounds like an attempt to get people to buy Cadillacs who want a V8, but consider pushrod engines too archaic and crude to ever buy a car with them. They want something high tech and sophisticated ... regardless of whether or not that makes for a better engine. Such engines will almost certainly remain Cadillac exclusive -in order to elevate the brand beyond being just GM's luxury division.

Kinda like the Northstar line then right? Weren't those DOHC?
