indeed, driving by CRVs and RAV4s stuck in the ditch is quite hilarious.

everyone at work asked me when I bought the car: "how will you get to work if it snows?"

I then try explaining to them the benefits of winter tires (vs all season for instance) and you can see them trying to understand, but they never really do (you can see them trying to think about it because of the look on their face, lol). most non-car people literally think all tires do the same thing.

Oh I know the feeling. Helped a guy at work who purchased a 335i last year when he couldn't make it into the parking lot with two inches of snow on the ground. Told him to get snow tires or at least all seasons but he hasn't. Oh well! Lol

funny you say that... coworker of mine has a '97 325 is and was asking me for tire advice too. i basically told him anything would do since his sidewalls were almost completely cracked haha

i showed him tirerack.com and he'd never heard of it before. he almost paid the dealer $400 for 2 tires O.O

he had 16s on his car which were only like $89 each. saved him a few hundred just by giving him the name of a website
