All black 2010 1SS/RS owner

Hey how are you all? Been lurking for a few weeks and getting info and decided to join. I just got this car almost a month ago after some woman took a red and totaled my 12' CTS.

Have to say, im kinda glad it happened since I was able to find this incredible car. Never loved any of my previous cars in comparison to how much fun this has been so far. Also, luckily the older gentleman I picked this up from took car of this like his baby.

Within the scope of this month already did a few things. Obviously some cosmetic things as you can tell in the picture. Upgraded my radio, cross drilled & slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads, Borla ATAK axle back, SCT tuner, and previous owner had the intake installed.

Had otw a nice upgrade of parts. Goodridge SS Brake lines, GTO reservoir to separate the clutch line, Motul 600 fluid, Kooks long tubes with cat deletes, 2ss gm guages, TWM short shifter and shift knob, GM's 3.91 gear kit with Energy Suspension poly diff bushings.

Now, on the downside... I just did my first oil change last night in addition to tranny flush to amsoil synchromesh fluid, and not even 20min later I get the dreaded oil pump failure....

I obviously have a decent chunk of $$$ spent on parts otw to have this crap go out on me atm. But, seeing as I'd have to take everything out anyways I'm really considering biting the ****ing bullet and ordering the full cam kit from one of yall's venders vengeance racing.

As of right now the plans on the car are just a DD with the option to go long trips out of state for concerts or whatever. So don't plan on going insane with car. Buuutttttttttttttt occasionally, (and hopefully more often) getting back into Autocross with this when the season opens up again.

Anyways, let me know what you all think.

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Nice ride! Looks lot's like my 2010. What kind of splitter on the front fascia? How did you know the oil pump crapped out - this concerns me. I am about to have a blower and cam installed in mine, and wondering if I should replace the oil pump as insurance, maybe with the melling or high volume type.

Def say to change it, from what I was reading around its infamous for its valve to get stuck closed. I know its that because I have no oil pressure. You could hear the top of the engine was running dry and ticking. Thankfully I was able to catch it instantly since had just happened at home.

I know some cam kits come with the melling high volume, the vengeance kit I ordered has it. In addition, the kit is supposed to come in tomorrow, but just based on the support I got from them over the phone and how quick they shipped it (within a couple hours), I definitely feel comfortable to recommend them if you havent made an option yet.

this is the lip I have on, just super hard to tell in my pics since stupid dark. but next set of pics should be better and hopefully have it color matched better to my car.
