Well, Good news for me always comes coupled with bad news. The reason my son wanted to meet us at his favorite restaurant to eat today was to tell us in person he will be deploying to Iraq in Feb. I am not allowed to tell anyone in the family per him (the kid is funny about those things). So you guys will be the only place I can vent about it. I figured he would be going with the 101st and I had guessed this was the reason for today's lunch but hoped I was wrong. This will be his first deployment & going with the engineers who will be doing the preparation for the 101st to deploy. He will be there for 9 months they say but that is always subject to change. His particular job is not the most dangerous but they all travel in the same convoys & everywhere there is dangerous. Now I'm a worried Mama. Here is a pic of my handsome soldier son.

Positive thoughts from AZ.

Did I just move to Seattle? Rained almost all day today, and we're getting lots!

I wanted to go to the pavs car show yesterday but just didn't have the time. It's nice to get a little rain here! El Nino's gonna be rough on us this year.

Good morning. Didn't sleep very well. Monday, Monday. Can't trust that day............
Another work day. After work I'll visit my dad then meet up with some of my cousins for supper in a mini family reunion. It will be a long day.

I thought this was your Camaro - There was a black foldable chair in the space beside it but no one was around it. Maybe we'll have another meeting out here in the near future.

My daughter and I left the race track around 5:30 to go back to the park & ride lot to get some dry clothes. We had all intentions of going back to the track but bus service stopped at 7:00. So with no way to get back to our car plus being cold and exhausted we decided to go back to the hotel and watch the race in our room. At least Dale Jr. won!

On the plane now headed back to warm Jacksonville!

Have a great day everyone!

I think we've had more fall rain than monsoon season rain. This has been a strange fall season.

Yup, I was saving a spot for a buddy. When I arrived, I wiped the car down and got something to eat. Sorry I missed you.

I heard the rain delay was the second one in the 28 year history of PIR.

Have a safe flight.

Jan, God bless you and your son. It takes brave men and women to keep the world safe. Fighting evil has to be done and God is on our side. We will have him in our prayers.

My best friend is over there now, state dept, her first time. We live in dangerous times and fighting evil is a difficult task indeed.

I have the utmost respect for those who serve.

Jan - Your son is one fine looking young man and you have to be PROUD of him!!! It's great to know that our country is being protected by young men like your son! Godspeed to him and all of our soldiers for a safe deployment and return home!

Got home around 3:30. I felt sorry for my daughter she's a BIG Dale Jr. fan and really wanted to go back to the track. Oh well, at least we can say that we've been to PIR!

Great photo Trickskier!

As they say, "the picture is the proof" you were at PIR.

Love the pic Trickskier. It was indeed a long day. Busy at work. Saw daddy. He is quite literally, just skin stretched over bones. Then supper & visits with some of my cousins. I'm tired. Nighty night.
