Orly?
When I got out of the Navy, I had just spend the last 4 years on a ship that when out for 27 days, came in for 7 days, and repeated that cycle all for the 4 years I was on it. Even inport we lived on the ship, so except when I was hitting the beach I was on the ship, most of the time below decks.

I had various duty times from morning, afternoon, night over that time and never had any trouble sleeping until I go out, then I had a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep.

After about a month it was taking a visable toll on my and an ex-Navy friend asked what was up, I said, me, can't seem to sleep right, he has been on the same kind of ship as me. He said, you need fan noise, try it out, get a fairly loud, big fan and run it full blast, not blowing on me just near me.

I picked one up and damned if I did not sleep like a log, it was that I was so used to the engines, fans, and other noises that I needed it to get to sleep. Over the next few months, I went from high, to medium, low, them off. Worked like a charm!

To this day I sleep like a log no matter how much noise there is, unless it sounds like a 1MC or just the right tone bell style alarm. My wife still can't beleive what I can sleep though.

C'mon girl do you think I am an idiot...I know most things Corvette...Officially, There were no 1983 Corvettes. There were forty seven 1983 Corvettes made but none were ever sold. The National Corvette Museum has the only 1983 known at this time. The new Corvette plant in Bowling Green, KY closed in October of 1982 to begin retooling for the 1984 Corvette. Production began in January of 1983 and the press received their first view of the 1984 Corvette in January of 1983. In February, the first production 1984 Corvettes were sold to the public. In March of 1983, the 1984 Corvette officially went on sale in the United States, except for California and a month later, in April, the 1984 Corvette went on sale in California. By October of 1983, the plant was in full speed production

I deployed on CV's so I'm like you... If you can sleep through flight ops with the cats literally 6 ft above you... you can sleep through anything...
