2015 SS A6 Wheel Spin

I've always had manual sports cars, this is my first automatic. Completely stock. Traction control off, paddle shifter in 1st. I floor it, should I get some wheel spin? I didn't. It just went really fast in a straight line. My v6 2012 manual camaro couldn't get traction ever, but it had the crappy tires. My 14 Mustang v6 manual with P-Zero stuck pretty good, but it would i get loose in first if I pushed it. I am not complaining, sticking and going is what I want it to do. Just curious. No spin when shifitng from first to second either.

The P-Zeros are really sticky for sure. I have an auto too and it is rather lazy stock. The torque management does a lot to reduce wheelspin I think too. Now that I'm tuned I have a hard time getting traction and the car will chirp 2nd and 3rd in Sport Mode.

The other thing is the trans is slow to shift in manual mode as there is some delay there- again stock.... Are you holding down the TC button for about 8 seconds to completely turn the nannies off?

But I found about the same results as you especially when the pirellis were still new.

I just passed 500 miles on the car, so the tires are new. I would love a tune, but I don't want to void the warranty on my new car. It is nice for it to stick and go, I'm just not used to that. I was really expecting some wheel spin. Yes, I held the TC until all were off.

Congrats on the new car its a beauty! I would think it is a lot to do with it and the tires being that new and I think the car takes a long time to loosen up mine did like 6000 miles I'd say... The main reason I mentioned the tune was to give you an idea of what is hidden in that L99 beast....For sure a tune brings warranty risks with it so I agree best to stay stock for a while. I just got my tune in September so car was just shy of 3 years old then and my bumper to bumper is done now.

I still have the remaining powertrain... maybe lol

I like the sound of that!! It will take me a year at least to get to 2000 miles. It is my daily driver, but I work from home so it will take a while.

Hold the TC/ST button down for about 8 seconds. DIC should indicate "Competition Mode". Shift to M (Sport Mode). Hold your foot on the brake and press the gas pedal until your tires start spinning. Release brake and stomp on the gas.

*** Remember - with TC and ST off, it may get squirrely on you so be aware ***

Hold down the tc button for 8 seconds, then press left foot on brake and right foot on gas. Watch the tires smoke.

Also can someone explain why a tune would void your warranty?

GM would have to prove that the tune is the cause of the issue. There are laws protecting the consumer.

Tech note

"Wheelspin" means the wheel rotates independently of the tire, which is why you'll see certain drag cars with tires bolted on to the wheel. They call this 'beadlock'.

I know how to MAKE it do it. I prefer it to stick and go. I was just surprised with 400 hp it did not spin.

I know wheel spin technically means the slipping of the wheel around tire, but I didn't know exactly how to word my post. I figured most would get what I was talking about.

My 1LT stock V6 A6 would leave a decent amount of patch with both traction control and stability control off. Once the right tire started spinning the left tire would also leave some patch marks as well but not as dark.
On my stock SS M6 the back tires are wider plus it has posi-traction, this setup gives more than twice the traction on the V8 but only has about 100 hp more than the V6. By design SS was configured to have minimal tire spin at launch. OP "stick and launch" goal was met by the engineers.
