Forbes says LET GM FAIL

Let GM FAIL

All I'm saying is WTF! This guy is smoking something real good. Wants GM to fail so we allow more companies into the states to boost the economy.

How about he does his research and realizes what GM has going for it and start printing good news about GM and domestics so we boost our own economy. . .guess that's too hard.

Well, that guy is obviously biased towards the foreign-econobox and thinks that by getting rid of protective tarrifs and such he can upgrade his BMW 3series to a 5series or something because it will be cheaper.

I think govt. should just stay out of business except when necessary.

The hard part is knowing where to draw the line between staying out of business and allowing free global competition and bailing out BIG business because not to do so would have too big of an impact on the overall economy. (like helping out airlines after 9/11)

It's not even that...let him like Toyota for false reasons, whatever.

I wanna know why he thinks it would be so easy to watch GM fail/disappear. What's going on with GM right now is very closely tied to the country as a whole. Healthcare, budgets, etc....does this guy REALLY think that if GM "fails", the country won't follow suit? (it won't fail, but can sombody say depression?) Arghagh --

You can say that again. When reporters and Wall Street analysts get together they make Chicken Little look calm, cool, and collected.

If GM were to fail, the damage to the economy would be enormous. GM itself employs tens of thousands of people in the US (I think). But there are at lest 10x as many people who work for part suppliers that are dependent on GM. So if they were to all of a sudden lose their jobs, you have a massive hit. Plus, he quoted North American sales and figures, ignoring the fact that GM is a global company. Their market share is increasing in every market but North America and Japan.

couldn't get past the second paragraph... guy might be as smart as a whip, but he's ignorant beyond repair... and that makes him stupid, no matter how well he can tie his shoes.

bottom line: GM will not fail... even if the government has to step in, GM will not fail... and I, for one, am tired of hearing the ignorant morons yammering on constantly about how smart they are and how bad off GM is.
