Sounds like you answered your own question saying you always drive a manual! Probably wont be too happy with an auto.....only you can decide!

I've only driven manual when it came to the two modern sports cars I've had. The 2012 camaro 1 ls 6 cyl and the 2014 mustang 6 cyl. I had a 79 camaro with auto, an 88 auto. Then I cared more about looks than actual performance. I currently have a 2014 f150. I own my own company and I work from home. I had my mustang for 10 months and it had 3500 miles on it when I traded it in. I've had my truck for 6 months and it has 3900 miles on it. I don't drive much at all. When I do drive I'm seldom in stop and go traffic. I will drive the auto Monday and see what it feels like, then drive the manual for comparison. I mainly posted to get others opinions and experience and to see if there were any points made that I had not thought of.

If you like the gadgets but want to keep it in a manual, just go to your dealer and give him/her a listing of what you want. Tell them to find you that car (no compromises) and you'll do the deal. Obviously they'll want to sell you what's on their lot first but given the option of pulling a car in from somewhere else and losing a sale, most will gladly pull a car in from somewhere else.

When I was looking I didn't really care if it was a manual or auto, I drove both and both were fun. The Camaro has enough grunt with either transmission. I would get the 2ss.

If you are going to tune the L99 really wakes up with that... Its a bit of a lazy bitch before that especially in AFM mode. So what I'm saying is the car you will test drive will not be like the one you end up with after the tune. It will be so much better after that...

If you live in a place where roads are not flat, the Hill Assist feature in the LS3 is nuisance. It just doesn't work as intended causing me to stall like an idiot.

I never had hill assist problems on my mustang. I actually liked it.

The l99 is a good choice..drive both and see. This will just turn into a auto vs manual %$$hit show like always. If you like the options then you have your answer.

Everyone has their own needs and opinions on what satisfies them.. Only you can choose this. I really don't see the point in asking on a forum as they are two different worlds in which you are asking. Do what you desire and end it.

The manual is more fun regardless of driveline noise which I've only heard in very low speed (parking lot) situations. So if you want the fun of a manual and all the goodies you like from the 2SS RS then you best look around and find that combo. Take your time and get what you want and only then you'll not compromise anything and be truly happy with it instead of regretting later.

In no way did I mean to turn it into a manual vs auto thread. I just wanted real world opinions to see if someone might bring up a point I had not thought of. I do respect and appreciate everyone's input.
