I do have to admit though. The AWD in the new focus isn't all its cracked up to be. It is and torque vectoring, but it uses the cars brakes in place of an actual locking diff. While it will work great in the summer, I don't think that AWD will do very well in a snow storm as my B7 will. Sure it will put power down better than a stock camaro, but I love my clutch pack AWD on my car. I'll just do a K04 swap, and RS4 interior for the recaros, and call it a day.

There's an SRT Dart on the way! Would love it if GM brought the badass Astra VXR over here.

If they do, it will more likely be a buick. While there is nothing wrong with that, but it will probably not do so good because of the image that buick has.

That would make sense since basically every Buick is a rebadged Opel/Vauxhall. Would be nice to see GM get into the hot hatch wars. I know some people who say the Sonic RS is a lot of fun, just underpowered.

I think GM would be very wise to get in the hot hatch market. Obviously the market is there. They don't have to go to the lengths of the RS, but at least offer up something to compete with the ST.

Same type of deal in a gtr though. Just no limited slip up front.

I agree. The sonic is already a better platform than the fiestas.

I would not say the Sonic RS is underpowered. It could use more power, but it is 138HP and my Corvair is 140HP. The Sonic weighs a little more than the Corvair (it is a convertible for anyone wishing to look up and compare) so I can testify about underpowered.

The new DI 1.6T currently used in Europe would definitely fill the "could use" more power need. Even the DI 1.4T scheduled to go into the 2016 Cruze next February could do, but the 1.6 has already been announced for the Sonic.

The problem is that the car is in the same price range as the Fiesta ST that has 197hp.

Labor smith I'm over there on the sonic forums and was there at the very beginning lol. I was thinking about getting a crystal red sonic turbo. Held out in hopes the RS would come with a better engine option.

I'm still hoping they do. I think GM is hurting themselves in the youth market. Big time. I know they like investing in middle aged people.

But the sonic is a great platform to stick that 1.6 in.

Exactly.

And then the Cruze never got a hatch which they admitted was a big mistake. Just think, the Cruze had a good platform to compete against the focus.

The new Cruze is even better but I highly doubt we see a tuner version of it.

They are hoping the camaro fills the price gap. Unfortunately it does not fill the door gap lol.

Which is why the focus RS is on my mind.

Thought that might be you. Do you hear from Travs? All that great work he did on the M32 clutch and now he has disappeared.

He got rid of that thing man. I haven't heard from him though I do have his number.

Need to call him and see how he is doing. He was in remission from cancer.
