NASCAR lost me years ago to many cautions for BS stuff on the track only to get the cars bunched up due to the fact that so many of the teams are not competitive, sponsors and TV have forced NASCAR to be more competitive which will never happen. What the heck is the Hollywood Hotel and what does that have to do with racing?

When Dale died NASCAR had to do something. But they took the wrong route. The France family got too greedy. I don't want to watch the same 1.5-2 mile tri oval cookie cutter race. Give me a nice short track, elbows out bump and run race. Local dirt track is where it's at.

It just really boggles my brain that Nascar did this deal with NBC. Knowing that many people cannot tune into a race anymore. I just don't get it. It's got to be a whole lot of people that are affected by this change. My neighbors, my Mom up in central Illinois, some of the people I work with are just a few of the people I know off hand that can no longer watch Nascar without upgrading their cable service.

I think today while the Nascar race is in progress the regular NBC channel that everyone gets is broadcasting the tiddlywinks championship or something like that.

I just wish they'd go back to "stock" cars. And like others said, throw in some short tracks and let 'em bump elbows. Back in the day, you could watch 'em run on Sunday, then go buy a car on Monday, and it was a whole lot like the car you saw winning on TV. Even if it wasn't a race car, you could at least have fun teasing your buddies when Ford was losing.

I remember when Buddy Baker went to driving a Ford. A good friend of mine was a big Buddy Baker fan and we teased the heck out of him. Meanwhile Dale Earnhardt was kicking his rear in that black #3 Chevy. My buddy was living in Atlanta and we'd call him every time Buddy Baker wrecked...lol... And you could go buy a car that at least looked the same. More important, you could tell the cars apart on the track. Now they all look alike. Somehow, they took the fun out racing.

Now days, there is probably not even one "stock" screw or bolt on the race cars. I don't even know why they call it stock car racing anymore.

Nascar Sucks.

Just thought I'd update that they are sucking even more. Rained out last night so today its back on the NBC sports channel. Still Boggles my mind that I can't watch a race without having an extra package deal on my already expensive cable tv.

I had no idea I had NBC sports but I was able to catch most of the race. GO HARVICK!

My friend has cable and enough people complained about it that they turn that channel on for them just for the race.

I pretty much quit watching nascar as well. Dont have cable and wont. I try to watch the Pirelli and Continental races that actually have cars that look like Camaros, but they are not on tv much either. At least i can watch the IMSA races live online.

I love all the complaining. NBC offers an app that allows you to stream the race. So, if you don't have NBCSN, get the app, watch the race (if you want, if not ... move on, nothing here to see) and stop complaining. Just my $.02.

Screw that app, stream stuff. That's the problem. On Sunday while the race is on nbcsn the regular everyday nbc channel airs the National Tiddlywinks Championship. I'd be surprised if Nascar is happy with their ratings.

x1000 Even worse when it follows Botswana vs. Armenia Women's Soccer and it runs over 2 hours because they're tied at 0-0
