Need shop, dealers evil

The dealerships across this country have joyride the hell out of my beautiful beast. They PRETENDED to do the supercharger SB(SA,TX), so I'm screwed with a bad attenuater. They ignore the blown exhaust baffle. They ignore the ticking... say its normal, sounds like a bad valve or misaligned lifters. I broke it in on 66, its been across the entire country, E-W, N-S. The entire time they are worthless arrogant morons. During the x-country break-in I stopped(flagstaff) to change the oil at 1k. It took me and hour of arguing to get them to do it because 'thats not on the service plan' and 'what about the environment' (yea, the jerk said that). Then they put in normal oil and I have to argue again they need to put in the factory oil or [brand censor]. Guys in Georgetown took it for a ~45mile joyride and balded a brand new set of tires, tried to file a complaint but the dealership management was in on it and Chevrolet Customer care is the most useless idea ever made. I have 2 years of CRIMINAL actions by the dealerships. I wish Chevrolet would help, and I think they would if there call center staff wasn't... well, um... car illiterate.

I DONT WANT THIS CAR TO DIE. Definitely not before 35k. I've never even ditched it, I've never done cop calls, I've never even done drift laps. I NEED a shop in SoFlo, that is very UN-florida. Need licensed, need smart, need verified, need flexible and extremely respectful, need my schedule, never out of my sight type of thing.

Have money, have lots of money to throw into this car cuz my wife was a lemon. I don't want anything special, just want a solid, stable, factory tuned throughout 2013 ZL1 convertible.

please help I thought this was going to be enjoyable, maybe even fun.

Well I can tell that you have had a rough experience. I can also tell you that nearly everyone has a challenging experience at least once in their life time.

The best thing to do when you are facing an awful time is to find a way to regroup your perspective, and face the issue with a refreshed mind.

If you take the opportunity to somehow regroup and refresh your mind, you will see
and find novel and unique ways to deal with the problem.

I went to the dealer to have my oil changed and they also tried to put in a synthetic blend, they showed me a fact sheet that stated my car didn't require full synth.

I knew that the company had changed the parameters for the oil requirements for the car to save money, because many dealers made 2 year promises for oil changes. I told them that they had begun to use full synth and they needed to continue to do so. The fact that I had given the service rep 100.00 the week before for a Christmas present probably helped because he went to the service manager and persuaded the outcome in my behalf. Nonetheless I was very unhappy that it even went that far.

Dealership are professional schemers, that's how they make the majority of their cash.
It always best to avoid them if possible.

just know you are not alone.

Well, lets just paint an entire industry with a broad brush. Post up what you do for a living and I'll post a horror story that doesn't relate to you personally, but attack your profession. It'll be fun!

If you have the time bring the car up to the panhandle in Panama City, FL. The dealership here is awesome and will take care of your car.

My dealer here in Melbourne is very good, but then again, I purchased my car through them so maybe I'm getting good service. I think the techs here are very good and I do like the service managers. The service specialists are so-so, I have one that I like and I use her all of the time. I've heard of other people having problems through that dealer service department too, so I guess it all depends on the service specialist and technician. Good luck with your search.

Dealers are very hit or miss around my area. The only reason I take my car to them is to get the "free" oil change every 3k miles (already paid for it up front in the service package, might as well use it)

I believe the clicking sound in the engine bay is normal, many cars have this sound including mine and they still all run very stout. Don't worry much about that, it's been talked about many times on here. Good luck with your search

If the S/C needs work- it's under warranty. I don't know what a misaligned lifter is, but I guess you know all about that. Take it in...

VTSummit, you are a troll and arrogant in your ego.

A mis-alligned lifter is a lifter that is out of sync... duh. Yea, I know the Camaro uses Hydrolic lifters and I know they are self adjusting... But I said 'sounds like', not 'is'. And no, its not the normal sound. And yes, I have lost a ton of power.

Guys that work at dealerships..... always the same ignorant arrogant drivel, just like doctors.

Im painting an entire industry badly, because the entire industry is bad. Multiple dealers in TX, AZ, FL, OK, WI joyrided my ZL.

Jeb114, nope, not BS at all. What I wrote here is just a preview of the full story.

And to everyone. This isn't my issue. This is the industries issue. This is for the dealerships and vehicle manufacturers to work out. This is for the government to regulate and convict. Im not the criminal, I'm not the thief. If its truly "thats how it is, deal", then this is an anarchy and I will deal with it with quick, decisive violence. Thankfully, this is the USA and I don't have to do that..

To those on here that work at theses dealerships, that have hurt my car and diminished my life.... Im after you.

And to the red SS that wanted to hear my..... exhaust baffle. You really don't see anything strange with that situation? You can't put 2 and 2 together and arrest your 'friends'?

Well, anyway, Im done with the USA. You people are monkeys and your companies are corrupt. Im buying a Ferrari and continuing to enslave you all while I never work and take all your money vie the stock market. pfft.

Down here in Naples, there is a shop that specializes in performance cars and race cars called Mannix Automotive. They are very good as they have built an LS engine for my Panoz race car and the service is good. The head mechanic also knows a tuner and engine builder down here who specializes in camaros.

Attitude plays a big part in service.

If you walk in upset and start with the service writer and vent you are headed down the path of destruction. My local dealer did a half assed job repair on my car by leaving the rear connector unplugged. The one that allows the brake lights to function. The tech was rushing it to finish the job. The service writer just happened to see it when I pulled out of the dealership , called me on my cell and said please return, your rear brake lights are non operative. The last time I used them for service.

I now take my car to the dealer I purchased it from which is further away by 20 miles but great service. To make a long story short, they have helped me with my ZL1 which is now out of warranty, and I have come to know the technician that works on the Corvettes, and ZL1's. I am even allowed back in the shop area since I am specific about my car which has suspension mods galore. There are good dealerships out there, you just have to search for them. Treat them with respect when warranted and remain professional even though you'd like to strangle the crap out of them. Good luck with finding one you haven't pissed off, or have terrible service technicians.

Someone has been non compliant with their medication.
