I wonder if healthy looking medical marijuana cardholders get the same treatment.

I don't get it. Why does this bother people? I'm not handicapped, so I don't park in handicapped spots. Which means I don't care who parks in them. It's none of my business, so I don't even pay any attention to those spots.

NO.

rant
I can get a card if I wanted one, but don't... because I can walk easily, and show no real outward sign of a handicap.

I have 2 fused vertebrae... and suffer from Degenerative Disk Disease.

I have a 140hp sport touring motorcycle sitting in my garage that sits on a battery tender, for over a year now, that I can't ride anymore... to stubborn to sell.

I bought a nice muscle car to fill the void it left... but would I park it in a blue sign spot? No... exactly for the reason she is complaining about, if not worse. I'll park a mile away from anyone to not have a scratch in my car because someone judged me by sight... or a sneer from some hole that doesn't know the pain I have.

Handicap tags are BS, if you can drive and walk around a store you don't need a parking spot up front period, handicap tags have been so abused that the folks that truly need them don't get the needed spots and get a bad rep.

Or people with disabled vet tags for something that hasn't got a damn thing to do with walking. Almost nothing pisses me off more than watching somebody with DV plates jump down out of a truck that I'd have to climb into and trot into a store or workplace while somebody in a chair wheels themselves through the parking lot. No reason for the diabled vets to pile on... I know all of you don't do it. But you all probably know ones that do.

My mother-in-law is always on me because I won't park in the handicapped slots when she's with us. I'll drop her and the wife off at the door and go park somewhere else.

Bulldog, You said they are BS, but then you said those that truly need them. Which is it?

Read post #36, handicap isn't just walking.

My 78 year old Father has Stenosis, Scoliosis, and Sciatica. Both his knees are also bone on bone.

He can drive. He can walk around a store, and does; really slowly, and for short distances. He's also in constant agonizing pain, and he seriously dreads the logical outcome of his condition, which is a loss of his mobility, and therefore his freedom. No walking. No driving. He pushes himself.

So maybe you might suffer Pop parking a touch closer to the store. You know, the place he has to go to buy food. In order to live.

Here are Pa's requirements. Probably pretty close to this in most states.

Applicant:
(1) is blind.
(2) does not have full use of an arm or both arms.
(3) cannot walk 200 feet without stopping to rest.
(4) cannot walk without the use of, or assistance
from, a brace, cane, crutch, another person,
prosthetic device, wheelchair or other assistive
device.
(5) is restricted by lung disease to such an extent
that the person’s forced (respiratory) expiratory
volume for one second, when measured by
spirometry, is less than one liter or the arterial
oxygen tension is less than 60 MM/HG on room
air at rest.
(6) uses portable oxygen.
(7) has a cardiac condition to the extent that the
person’s functional limitations are classified in
severity as Class III or Class IV according to
the standards set by the American Heart
Association.
(8) is severely limited in his or her ability to walk
due to an arthritic, neurological or orthopedic
condition.
(9) is a person in loco parentis of a person
specified in paragraph

Oh, and a doctor needs to sign off on it or a cop in some situations.

A good friend of mine, goes by the name Pegleg, lost his leg below the knee when he was hit by a cager on his Harley. He has a tattoo just below his stump that says " cut along the dotted line" . He was on his Harley and parked in a handicapped spot. Walking to his bike, an older lady shouted at him, " You got some nerve parking in a handicapped spot"! He pulled out a big 'ol knife and stuck it in his prosthetic leg and yelled back,"Is that handicapped for you bitch"? Sometimes you just don't know the severity of the handicap.

Since we're on the subject I thought I should post a pic I took on a questionable handicap user...yes I don't know the situation but driving something as sporty as this always raises eyebrows.
