Mine too..they are the ones that lit the fire in me for drag racing when i was a small child I remember going to the drag races then when the cars where so violent...it was odd because not to many minorities where in the stands then..nor when my family started a team were there hardly any minority race teams..but not once was that ever an issue in the pits if we needed help with anything folks always lent a hand...man those were goodtimes...I remember when big daddy looped his dragster...i remember another time that he tore up his front end and didnt have any replacement tires so they melted a fan belt to the front rims..and he turned the quickest time of the day..and by the end of the season everyone was racing with skinny front tires...I remember john force doing half track burnouts...his daughters were very small then just hangin out in the pits...Connie kallitta flyovers....the sound and feeling over a 7000 horsepower machine flying by you at over 300 mph feels like someone really punching you in the chest about 10 times per second...or just being in the pits when they fire up the top fuel cars...and you eyes start watering form the nitro..and when they blip the throttle when you are that close...it feels like someone just hitting you in the chest with a sledgehammer... i love the NHRA!!!!!

Were you around for the fire burnouts , they were awesome and the best story I have was from Jungle Jim who would work on his race car hauler in the pits between rounds while the Funny car would just sit there , well He had just got his new vega funny , replacing his Camaro Funny first run down the track at atco NJ drifts to the right into the grass never lifts , comes back puts it on the hauler the whole time mumbling These New Cars Suck
