Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

Get the 6.2. You don't buy a REAL truck for mileage. You want that, then you buy a Canyon or something. I looked and looked and couldn't find a 6.2 with the stuff I wanted when I got mine, so I settled for the 5.3.

And buy a range or a tune, because starting last year, the 5.3 AND the 6.2 have AFM.

Doesn't the 6.2 need premium fuel?

Price approaching $60k for 1/2 ton trucks?

I suppose the next-gen HD's will touch $80k...

Unreal.

6.2 all the way....more power is always better. Don't listen to the news...there is plenty of oil out there...gas is cheap.

I only paid $34800 for my 07 LBZ Duramax.

You gave them your 07 and still paid almost as much for a 2WD 1/2 ton truck as I did for my truck on top of that...

I have the 6.2L in my 2014 1500 GMC. It DOES have AFM and it has the 6 speed (6L90). It hauls ass! Gets just as good MPG as my 2010 5.3L. I bagged the rear and it will pull our 24' race trailer with my ZL1 in it no problem. The 6.2L has like 420hp... Its an amazing truck for a 1500. Now our new 2015 Duramax will pull anything but my 6.2L is quicker.

And your '07 doesn't have anywhere near the features the new trucks have.

Really?

Fill me in exactly on what the new trucks possess that could possibly double the price after a trade in. I understand you're biased but seriously, any reasonable explanation outside of inflation. Comfort and convenience features don't cut it because it isn't just the trucks that get those. Those are available across the spectrum of autos that GM produces.

The prices are ridiculous, they're high because people are somehow willingly paying those prices, and I don't blame a business for making money but it's not justified and reasonable.

I have to agree, truck prices are insane these days. I don't see what new great feature justifies the high cost. Look at how much truck prices have gone up in the last ten years compared to wages. Oh that's right, wages have actually gone down. There will be a breaking point even for businesses. I know I stretch my fleet longer than ever. You have to sell a lot of air conditioners to pay for a $65,000 service truck for each guy.

Oh, I love the fact that my LBZ Duramax service trucks don't require piss juice like that great new feature on my 2011 and ups do. I know I know, that's the governments fault. Either way the cost is out of hand.
