Because once people start paying those premiums, it makes finding the car at MSRP harder for everyone else.

Patience or pay more. You'll see people selling them to upgrade to the R or making room for the GT.

I forgot that we don't live in a free market where supply and demand affect prices.

ADM's will never go away... been there for decades. If 50 people want it and the dealer only has 5 for the entire year, then it's safe to say that a good % of those 50 peeps will overpay just to get that 1 of 5. It just is what it is, unfortunately.

Even with the PT Cruisers during its early heyday... dealers were selling over sticker.

Example from 15 years ago... http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2...dealer-sticker

Well for one, we don't live in a free market economy, we live in a mixed market economy. Two, consumers make decisions selfishly, on the margin. Nobody cares how hard it is for you to buy a car at MSRP. Your quib about supply and demand affecting prices is exactly why people pay over MSRP.

Dont want to start another thread but haven't read anything or anybody comparing the ZO6 to the GT350R. What do you guys about the this match up? Round the track? Best performance overall?

Dont see anything about GT350R. I did see that the 350 will be 6 sec faster then the Z/28. So the R would be about equal to the ZO6 or slightly quicker?

Think you got that backwards. The GT350 with track pack is supposed to be close to a C7 with Z51, but that's still slower than a Z/28 by almost 4 secs.

The R has a serious disadvantage in power to weight compared to the ZO6 (or alleged power/weight should I say).

No.

And that was a completely different track.

It was said that the GT350R ran low 1:30s around Laguna Seca, nobody knows what that means exactly, where the Z/28 ran a high 1:37 I believe. So it could be 3 to 6 seconds or less, is my guess.

GT350R is very sweet, but it isn't touching the Corvette Z06, and after a few laps there would be a pretty huge gap between the two.

No GT350, but lots of cars where you can see improvements across generations. Do you think the GT350 will be 16 seconds faster than the Gen5 GT500?
