Seriously, have you listened to Fair Warning?

Sammy is awesome in his own right, but it never was as good as the original band. Sammy plays a killer guitar too but mostly did singing with VH. He didn't need them but it was cool to keep them on the road.

LOL... yeah I knew that comment was going to poke someone.

There's not much of theirs I don't like, just saying the 1st one did it for me and my 1st copy was on 8 track.

The Ice Cream Man solo is like no other blues-based solo ever. It doesn't follow the rules and is a frikin awesome example of Eddie's talent.

I saw Van Halen when they were a warm up band in 1979. Running with the Devil, is one of my favorites! I wore my 8 tracks out!

loved the 70's V.H. Not much for Roth, but I really liked the Van Hagar era. Forget about Nuno cd's.

they will not be the same without Michael Anthony, don't care how good Wofie is.

Hagar brought the band to a much more musical place. Many VH fans don't like that, but it's true. Eddie began listening to more than his guitar parts and Al's drums. I think 5150 is as good as my Roth era-favorite, Fair Warning. I think 5150 is more impressive because many fans didn't want to even think about a replacement for Roth, and the brothers and Mike Anthony were wondering if they were done and over with before Sammy joined. Hagar was a rock star in his own right on his own and had huge credentials for being the real thing. Rock Candy? Come on. And "One way to rock" ? Not to mention his most memorable song which wasn't even his biggest hit! I think Sammy is pretty awesome.

But Nuno? Wha? Do you mean Gary Cherone? His only Van Halen record was Van Halen III. I think you're confusing Bettencourt- a guitar player- with Cherone- a singer. Both played in Extreme. Some folks think Cherone was on 'Balance' but he wasn't.

Cherone is a local kid made good for my neck of the woods but I never liked Extreme and he was wrong for Van Halen in my opinion.

The first concert I ever went to was Black Sabbath with Ozzy with Van Halen playing warm up in the summer of 1978. No one knew then who Van Halen was! By the fall of 78 Van Halen was at the top.

I bought that album right after that show and played the hell out of it so I know Atomic Punks well.

Edit: ha! Found this picture advertising a later show. They played Milwaukee in August
