If egg shape had Good aerodynamics, then supercars and sports cars would use that design.

The teardrop shape optimizes fuel economy, not performance. Also remember that these hybrids and EVs need to be useful for families, they need a second row and a trunk or hatch space. The teardrop shape fulfills all those requirements.

Random ? - If I did a throttle body replacement wouldn't it be silly to add a spacer as well? Rather, isn't it silly for a spacer to begin with? For a 2003 Silverado 4.8l

Sure it does.





They hide the shape better than Prius and Insight but the same basic teardrop is there.

This is all fluid dynamics and it's a well documented fact.

But there is a definite angle change from the hood/fender line and a pillars. A domed roof doesn't make it egg shaped, to me.
