Next Challenger platform revealed
Revealed Today.
Rear drive platform for the next Challenger's chassis/ATS competitor. 510 hp with the turbo v6. I am thinking a sneak peak at the next Challenger will be early next year. Size looks to be about same as Gen6. "3400 lbs".

If it base price starts at 35k where the audi a4 is right now then I think it will stay in the category with the high end cars. That is assuming that there are going to be multiple engines, if the turbo v6 is the base engine then watch out. 40k for 510hp seems reasonable to an SS

I'm not understanding this. What does Alpha Romeo have to do with a Challenger?

Same parent company (FCA)...ostensibly alfa platforms would trickle down to other brands such as Dodge especially for performance-oriented models such as Challenger and Charger. Or so goes the logic I'm guessing.

It will be interesting to see what Dodge does with the size of the next Challenger. You would assume that it has to get smaller, although many of its current buyers view the size as a plus (I personally like the room that the extra size affords).

FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) owns and operates both Chrysler and Alfa Romeo, as well as Jeep, Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati.... this new platform would work great for the Challenger

Alfa does a lot of tricks to cut weight down (take a look at the 4C) that probably won't fly with Dodge/Chrysler customers, but I'm sure some of it will make its way down. If this thing is meant to compete against the 3 series, the new car will be a much smaller car than the current Charger/Challenger, and like someone said that might not go well with their buyers.

Ah ok. So seems they are following a pattern. Alfa unveils a new car with Fiat's new platform first, then makes its way to their other brands. Didn't know if Alfa kept things separate inside FCA like Ferrari.
