It's an issue of innovation, while they hold on to their [becoming] outdated engineering and mediocre fuel efficiency, other makers are making strong progress toward more power output/liter and overall better fuel economy. IMO the boxer has nothing to do with their success, it's all about their AWD platform. I can tell you from first hand experience having a Subaru as a second car for 10 years now (Baja, 2xForesters, now Impreza) that the traction in snow even with mediocre all season tires is astonishing. We never need to stay home during a storm (although we choose to most of the time for our own safety - ie - other drivers hitting us). With so many improved AWD designs from other makers Subaru can't rest too easy knowing they *had* the best engine/AWD combo. It's the same complacency that got the US auto makers in trouble not that long ago.
Can we all at least agree the interior needs improvement? I realize they're aiming for a utilitarian and slightly rugged design, but it seems they employ blind interior decorators. |

You are thinking of the LT engines. The first LS was introduced in 1997.

More fodder from JD Power:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/...n0h00hfg100dth Subaru almost at the bottom. [fwiw, we've not had any early issues with any of ours, but have had some relatively minor mechanical problems after some miles] |

Looks like the Camaro could get AWD after all, as well as the turbo 4. Both of these are already on Cadillac ATS, which shares a chassis with the 2016 camaro. I think AWD could be a great option for high performance models. Would help it smoke the hellcat in the 1/4 mile, and make it even more potent on a race track!

Since when Subaru are fast!? He sûre did dump a lot of money to barely outrun your bolton Camaro.
They are fast because of AWD. They perform better at autocross because of AWD and its a good handling platform. They will gain those precious seconds on the launch in auto autocross. Two friends of mine have garage and they often deal with blown STI and WRX. Envoyé de mon HTC One en utilisant Tapatalk

http://www.jdpower.com/press-release...dability-study Subaru isn't going to run ads to tell people "we're overrated, please stop believing we're better than other cars and pass the word so people stop buying into it". They'll ride the delusional wave as long as possible. |
