Hate the man not the Mustang.

That being said, any man with a reputation like that should not say such things. My favorite car is the mustang but I'm still a car enthusiast and it turns out Steve Saleen is not, and he doesn't deserve any respect, whether he builds good cars or not.

And he's calling GM a little company? GM owns Chevy, Pontiac, Saab, Buick, Hummer, Daewoo, etc., etc.! Saleen pisses me off...

The guy is a ...well to keep it clean, hes a D-bag <you can figure it out>
If GM uses him to build a Saleen Camaro, then that WILL be a deal breaker for me.Let him stick with the ponys and keep him away from our Stallions.

I think he was just playing to the crowd and it was really not all that offensive. Fact is all he did is copy the Concept so they could have a working model for the movie and if you read between the lines I think that he is still ticked off the GM was able to push his inferior product to the back seat as the star of the movie. I have not heard anyone say wow did you see that saleen mustang in the movie. All anyone talks about is the Camaro, and the mustang is going to have a tougher time with the Challenger and Camaro taking sales away as well as some new imports hitting the market. GM is still number one and overseas sales are growing. Only here in America do we spend so much time bashing our own companies. It would have been a lot more professional if he could have found a way to try to build up the mustang without bad mouthing the Camaro. And really there was no reason to sound off about GM, I would guess he has some personal grudge, and if so please keep it to yourself. Did your mom never tell you if you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all.

I'm pretty sure that he stepped down from the Saleen brand, and now they're selling him out by making cheap performance parts. As far as his comments are concerned, who cares? "My name is Steve Saleen and I can make a fast car and only charge $1,000,000 for it. I can also take your heap of junk mustang and make it look like a rice-rocket! Look at me!" I think his designs are over priced and are a joke as far as performance for the money. I really hope GM sees this and realizes they sould never do business with the Saleen company.

I have had the dubious honor of talking to Steve Saleen at SEMA several times........you guys haven't missed anything. He's a self promoting blowhard with all the personality of a flat tire. Strictly my opinion.

If SMS is responsible for the hood on the new BumbleBee, I will buy that. That's about it though.
