Vendor posts

So I guess I am to assume that approved vendors here are allowed to create a new thread/post that I consider "spam" selling stuff that if it were in my email would be reported as spam and blocked. Maybe it's just me but I find it annoying. Can't help wondering if it could be counter-productive for the vendor if there are more of you like me, you see I'm the kind of guy that if you annoy me with spam I'll be sure to purchase from your competitor.

Vendors are limited in the kinds of advertising they have here. This keeps it from getting overwhelming.

They are welcome to provide technical information and experience in non-sales threads, and that's not advertising or spam.

I don't really see the problem since the vast majority of new posts are not sales related at any given time. Perhaps you could provide more detail on your complaint.

As a supporting vendor on the forum, threads are bumped to increase visibility to new members.

We try to keep the posts to a minimum so it doesn't interfere with the activity on the site. Every forum has a set of rules that dictates how many threads can be active, and how many can be bumped per day.

It's very similar to commercials on TV. Without advertisements, you wouldn't have TV programs to watch.

Examples of the posts I'm refering to fairly prevelent in the forum below:

A whole lot of new threads with answers to things no one ever even asked, oh and what a co-incidence as they sell that stuff also. Thinly veiled SPAM IMO.

Just curious, in one particular section there just seem to be new vendor created threads with answers to things no one ever even asked, oh and what a co-incidence as they just so happen to sell that stuff also.
No worries, I'll just add them to my ignore list! Just not sure the practice is helping them, maybe the opposite, so I thought I'd mention it as some possible constructive criticism.
