Nice! Not too surprising to on price considering all the rumors and talk we've heard lately, but it is still impressive.

So will a base 350 with track pack be able to take on a Z/28 for around 18K less MSRP? Or will it take the "R" variant to give the Z/28 a proper spanking for about 12K less MSRP? I can't wait to find out.

You know someone is trying to create the perfect unicorn and get both the tech pack and the track pack on the same car. Years from now we will see it at auction for trillions of dollars...lol

Just found this on Mustang 6g:

"For our neighbors up north, the base GT350 Mustang in Canada looks to have a starting price of $62,599 CAD."

That`s right up there with the corvette starting price in Canada (which is around $63k IIRC)... the GT350r will get into the mid $90k, which is right around the range of a base c7 z06 here in Canada....

I like the idea of options, choices, etc. when buying a car...but to me this GT350 R is nice, but at the same time sort of a rip-off....

A/C and rear seats are standard equipment, for example....add R pkg, they go away...add tech, you get A/C back...trying to get my mind around paying for something as standard, pay more to have it removed, pay more again to have it put back...lol...No biggie...

First impression to me for most bang for the buck would be the base plus track pack...
...the R seems like it's mostly just for carbon fiber wheels...(probably a pain in the butt..).....

I think for now an SS for a lot less money will seem like a good deal....An optioned up/tracked up 1LE at some point would be similar in performance....I still don't think they've gotten to Z/28 territory yet with the GT350 R....but maybe, we'll see...

So, you basically get a Tremec, Recaros, Flat Plane Crank, bigger wheels, tires, and rotors for an extra 14-15k over the GT PP.

Less weight.. Perhaps. You don't know that yet though. And if so, not sure how much. We'll see if it has over 535 I guess.

My post was not arguing personal opinion. I even stated I prefer manual.

The new zo6 has an automatic model. The hellcat. It's a growing trend. Just saying it would be wise to offer as an option...

We are in need of a reality check here. Paying more than 60k for a FORD is just insanity.

Uhhhh, the Z/28 was $75k and this thing should lay down better times than the Z/28 for less money.

I wasn't a fan of the new Mustang until seeing this GT350, it looks great. And 56k for the base GT350 and the track package is really sweet price especially when compared to the overpriced Z/28 failure. I can't wait to see what this will lay down for times at both the track and strip.
