Hopefully I'll be able to attach the letter link.

I put the first one together back when I was autocrossing and used it as a chest strap just around me and the seat back. The last car I autocrossed with any seriousness had good grippy cloth seats, and the strap was still worth the better part of a full second on ~45 second courses. I wouldn't wear a chest strap on the street or out on the big tracks where there is at least the potential for a roll-over at highway speed.

The later ones I wrap under the seat (behind the tracks) and basically runs over top of the lap portion of the OE 3-point and is buckled last. So far, it hasn't let the OE belt slacken under any driving maneuvers (which includes a 75 mph spin)

I made two of the later belts, in order that an instructor or other passenger (I'm signed off to run solo) would have a restraint system comparable to what I was using. They're nowhere near as good as harnesses, but are a clear step up from the OE belts that are intentionally allowed to go slack as you move around in the seat (this probably to get most people willing to use seat belts at all). After riding along with me for a session, one instructor mentioned that he was going to pass along the idea to his student that day . . .

I'll see if I can get a picture showing how it runs.

@ Ruby, Norm

Ive done some spirited driving in my 73 (Theres a video online of somebody doing it in a 72 Continental, and while not slow for that car, it looks like the QE2 doing maneuvers in port LOL)

You need seatbelts on leather bench seats otherwise you end up driving the car from the passenger side, where the steering wheel is no longer an ingenius device to point where the car is going, but instead a handle to hold onto for deal life.

Im still in the worrying over getting an SS but heres the funny thing. If I dont, Im treating myself to a nice 80s Camaro I found locally. A near mint hardtop Z-28 (with a whopping 180 hp, can anyone say emissions FTW?!)

And I do like the 18s on the LS. I think thicher sidewalled tires look better. Ill be plastidipping then, and then white lettering them! That is the plus side to keeping Scarlet

Norm --- Thanks !! lesson learned. The closest auto cross to me is just over 2 hours away. On runways of an old air force base. Not sure if they would let me run the ZL1 with out a roll bar.

Diane and Castrosua --- Thanks for the tour info !! Taylorville is about 20 miles away from me. It looks like that pathway is going to let you see alot of fields of corn and fields of corn and fields of corn. "Bills Toasty Shop" is a great place to eat in Taylorville if you like homemade hamburgers with extra grease (local favorite). I can give you the address or I am sure you can google it.

Good evening all I am into my third week of 50+ hour work weeks since all of my coworkers quit. We did hire a level 1 technician fresh out of college and he's a good kid but has no experience so training him is slowing me down further. I do know however it will get better as I train him. I have also been interviewing level 2 technicians for the two open positions remaining. I should finsh that up this week and we can extend offers to the best candidates. Then they will need to pass the screening and background checks and give proper notice to their current employers.

I figure I am in for long work weeks through at least June maybe July before everyone is hired and partially trained. There is one good thing from all of this working so much is it forced me to build up my energy levels back up to the way I felt before my surgery. Health wise this is the best I have felt in months but I am getting tired of the long work weeks. The extra money in my paychecks is nice as well.

Glad you are feeling better Zandron. Sounds like.you have job security. Five people have left my department recently, but.management claims they received approval to hire.only one replacement. And with vacations starting, back logs have begun. Sure was nice being current all these months.

I have a few days off coming in June and am already looking forward to them.

Glad you are feeling better & strong Zandron but take care of yourself, eat well & try to get as much rest as you can. Hope the hiring goes well so you can get some relief.

Another so, so day at work. I'm going to try to learn to download the GoPro videos tonight. Wish me luck.

I know how you feel. Ive got a doc that wants to do a full spinal fusion on me because my neck is that bashed up (thank you Takata and Ford ) The funny thing is that working on cars (granted my own) lets me skip my meds. I hurt like a mofo but I get that satisfied feeling. Plus I do pushups listening to Manowar (those who know, know them) I never was able to do more than 40, now I routinely do 50 and Ive hit 100. I just push until my neck pain isnt noticable and my arms fall off LOL

Stay strong, latch on to something and keep active is my advice, and its ok to get those down days (ive been there, I think I still am, hence my NEED for a 1LE)
