So my drive home was fun.

On the way home from work it had literally just stopped raining. I was cruising along, pretty safe following distance, when traffic just shut down in front of me. I hopped on the brakes, but with no ABS and some serious all terrain tires wet asphalt traction was terrible. Back end started to come around and option A was the back of three vehicles and option B was the median. I 'drove' it into the median and once I got it down into the middle I aimed it back to MY side and gave her hell. I had the ole 5.3L SCREAMING trying to back to solid ground. I got one tire back on the road. A dually pulled me out about 10 minutes later.

There were tons of cars off the road on both sides.

Cool.. Ive always wanted to drive through a lot of grass medians in my life. Leave them trails and let the next folks wonder what happened.

I was crapping my pants on the way down and puckering my arse on the way back up!

It was fun in a really twisted way...

Yes. I did a 5.3L swap in this truck out of a 2002 Silverado. Has long tubes and full exhaust. Sounds wicked.

Was this on I-12? Because every time I drive on I-12 when raining, I always see cars in the ditches.

Good job not hitting anyone. A lot of people wouldn't have made that decision so quickly. Something I am trying to teach my teenage daughter. Talk about adrenaline rush, driving with a 17yr old on a learners permit.

At least it didn't have the cable system in the middle! You took the best option, glad that you made it ok! I bet that truck sounded great, pulling thru the mud
