Why is this the cliché response to truths those like you can't handle? I'm perfectly happy here, I served this nation, YOU? Just because I have the knowledge and experience to see things differently as you does not mean that I have to go elsewhere. It means YOU need to step your game up or get left behind. Knowledge is key, education is currency. The flag also HAS plenty of meanings to whomever is viewing or their realities. Perhaps China is better for you since you prefer my way or the highway. I hear they're pretty straight forward with the things they allow citizens to say and do. Enjoy it!

How many people have the American flag in their car? I figured I'd steer the conversation in another direction.

I notice that people that think like you love to tout A SINGLE example as the NORM I.E Anthony Johnson, a black land a slave owner, whats next President Obama as prof that merica has always extended the opportunity to become president as black people since its inception? Do you guys live in the matrix or what? If anything YOU PROVE my point. You can NOT find 1 freaking exception to the rule and play pretend. I'm moving on though to do as I normally do here and look at other beautiful Camaros and get ideas. Enjoy your day!
Youre comparing plantation labor againt world war 2 and MASS SYSTEMATIC EXTERMINATION of peoples. I have never in my life heard anyone so stupid before. WOW Tthe audacity of you to even say that

I have a rebel flag towel and a Summit cap with the American flag.

I have one of these in my cup holder:

I proudly fly the American Flag in the front of my house, as do my neighbors.

Dude, while I fully understand what your point is and fully understand that we are not defined buy any one group or any handful of popular history lessons I also understand a few other things.

Your condescending example of the use of 'merica will only piss people off. Which seems to be what you want to do.

You served in the military. Big deal. Does that make you special? Somehow give you a higher standing? I too am a VFW but you don't hear me using it to somehow boost myself in a conversation. If you truly believed what you are saying then you'd know that a non-vet is no less relevant in opinion than yours or mine.

I happen to agree with him. If you have a problem with our flag then feel free to get the **** out. Nobody is saying that anyone should be forced out. Either fall in and help right wrongs and make this a better place or get he **** out of my country. What exactly is wrong with that sentiment?

Walking on the flag

This went down the rabbit hole......

As a Vet who served 15+ years before being medically retired due to injuries sustained defending MY flag, I don't care if you are red, green, blue, black or yellow......you stomp on MY flag, I'm stomping your ass.

Anyone who's actually served in the military knows that not all soldiers are created equally. When you take an obvious problem out of society and put it in uniform do the problems magically go away? Nope. Every branch of the military has problems, just like society. This thread is a perfect example of that fact.

Just because someone's ancestors had a hard time, doesn't mean that every future generation gets to act like an ass. My grandparents went through shit too but I'm not letting that dictate how I live my life. I took care of them until they died and still managed to make something of myself.

Desecration of the flag is not going to bring attention to a perceived injustice, it makes you look like an asshole.

This country is far from perfect. It's history is filled with atrocities. But from that history it has become a far greater land the the majority of countries around the world. The fact that we are having this discussion is proof.

That flag is a symbol of not only the past in which it flew over, but a symbol of the future we can build together. I've lost friends, family and brothers/sisters in arms defending that flag and I'll be damned if I'd sit idly by and watch some lowlife pile of crap that has never done anything productive with their life dishonor their sacrifice.
