Just read all 119 post and my mind is blown. I am ordering a few dash cams for me and wife this week.
Also I wonder how that innocent guys stop and arrest went and how blown his mind was when he was told what they believed he had done.
I feel so sorry for the guy wrongly arrested and hope this has not cost him his job and much more from this horrifying event.

There is a possibility that the guy in the R/T was pulled over, determined not to be the perp, and let go. Then they somehow found the real guy later.

That would explain the cops complete disinterest in seeing the video.

Not likely, but it is a possibility.

In the much more likely case that they have the wrong guy, I might try calling back the supervisor and explaining since your evidence is 100% irrefutable it would probably be better for him to view it sooner rather than later.

It is mind boggling how in today's reality of completely instantaneous, worldwide media someone thinks they can ignore something like this and it will just go away.

This is all assuming that the R/T driver was not driving recklessly too.

So the guy arrested a black man, and does not want to see any evidence that could help them get the right information? And people still wonder why people, even more so black people, do not trust cops. This is absolutely ridiculous and the cop should not only be suspended, but fired.

2) the booking time doesn't match 100% this happened at 3PM (3:02-3:05PM time exact) not the 6:50PM book time on the link. At least that is what I think, I am not too sure.

I am trying to figure out what direction I should take now.

Contact local news outlets or some other option.

I don't want an innocent man to go to jail, but I also don't want to ruin rep of an LEO, even though he doesn't want to see my footage, he may actually be a good cop (doesn't seem so, but I try to give ppl the benefit of the doubt)
Booking time could easily be many hours AFTER the arrest... there's a lot of processing, transportation, other formalities that happen.

I speak form experience. Hey, I have a checkered past!

Update:

I sent the story to a local news outlet, might try to send it to a few others, so that some type of action can be taken. Will see where this goes now.

OP do you have a continuos video shot of the arrest incident as well? Looking at the still pictures it looks like it may have been taken from a phone or some other source. This will be important to show if the other side does evade the concern by stating the video and still photos taken were from two different incidents.

I was thinking the same thing, but it seems like the officer would have indicated that. I mean, even he would think it was kind of humorous that he pulled over a nearly identical car, found out it was the wrong one but was still able to apprehend the culprit. Anything is possible, but I think the OP is taking the right course of action. If in fact they did get the correct guy, then the officer isn't really in trouble. However, if they got the wrong guy then an innocent person's butt is in a sling.

I also don't think there is any reason to assume the officer is a bad LEO because of this. It may be common place for friends of people to call and try to get people released. He may simply not have enough time in the day to deal with every request to look at more information. It seems best to let this play out.

I didn't realize that. Can you make out the first two letters of the plate on the R/T?
