Look before you leap. Get some seat time and don't make a six figure emotional decision. I have been fortunate enough to be able to drive many exotic cars and while the Gallardo is very attractive to look at it is one of my least favorite. To me they feel very heavy and disconnected/numb compared to other similar cars. Many of the control surfaces on the early Gallardos feel cheap and don't wear well. On the other hand, I like the Ferrari F430 a lot.

I also choose the 430 over the Gallardo. Granted I was only able to drive them on an auto-x course but the 430 just felt more focused (not to mention the sound this thing makes...). That being said I have always liked Lamborghinis over Ferraris looks wise.

I'd finish college before you worry about convincing yourself a Lambo is worth it.
I have to agree with this. If you are in a situation to afford it, well then...awesome. If you are just a regular guy that drives a V6 Camaro with dreams to own a 100K+ car...then you had better plan on finishing school and getting yourself a great job that pays a lot of money first before you plan on doing anything else.

I'm a bit worried that only 1 or two people in this thread even felt to mention this.

Can you actually afford a Lambo or any other 6 figure car? If you're driving a 1LS and are just dreaming then this whole thread is kinda pointless. Of course everyone would love a lambo or ferrari to have, probably not as a car I'd drive more than once a month honestly, but I get the feeling you're just messing with us all.
That said for only 100k you'd be getting a pretty crappy Lambo, probably the equivalent of a boxster. A corvette is nicer to look at, nicer to drive, nicer for warranty, and nicer in price... And I get the feeling even that is out of your price range.

Just what do you do exactly for a living OP? And how old are you?

Don't know your situation so I'm not trying to insinuate anything just asking.
Seriously? As if 15-20 cents is killing you. If you can't afford a few extra bucks at the gas station you shouldn't have a Bentley. Maybe she just complains to show off her car.

He said it's his next life goal. You're acting as if he's about to go try to buy one next week. If people don't dream then what motivation do they have to progress in life...it's just the Internet man. Don't take it so seriously.

its not a financial planning forum, its a car forum. we answer questions car related (such as the clutch situation). if he wants financial advice, he can talk to an accountant.

Im little worried at anyone felt the need to mention it at all. I don't know the guys financial situation, and frankly its none of my business. Maybe he is some kid with a pipe dream of owning a Lamborghini like the rest of us. Or maybe he recently came into a large sum of money somehow (inheritance, sign on bonus, whatever). I personally know a few nukes that have re-enlisted at sea and received close to a 6 figure re-enlistment bonus...tax free I might add due to us being in a combat zone. some of these guys were barely over the age of 23. so in all honestly...don't know, don't care. Buy the Lambo if you can so I can be jealous.

I personally think that the less extreme body styling of the F430 when compared with a gallardo is aging much better.

I think the F430 is a timeless bodstyle meanwhile the gallardo will eventually look to us as the countach is looking to us.... Like a one upon a time cool lambo.

I somewhat agree... The 430 still looks similar to the 458 which looks similar to the upcoming 488. Also the McLarens are cars that I think continue to look good as time passes

I have been dreaming of a vette since I was 8 or 9. Now I am finally getting one. Gotta dream.
