How about AVG camo with Kevlar sewn into the inside. I've seen plenty of sporty riders wear them.

Cool I will.

Just out of curiosity I've seen plenty of sporty riders wear AVG pants with the Kevlar sewn on the inside. Would those be a good choice or am I going to have to go with leather?

AGV pants that are textile with armor sown in are good. Basically textile = good, leather = best, and cowhide leather = very good, kangaroo leather = best

Kevlar reinforced denim jeans offer you very little protection during a crash or a slide. When I started looking at gear I was originally looking at Draggin Jeans (http://www.dragginjeans.com/) because they are the highest rated denim jeans, and then I started reading about real world results. In a crash they are just a little better than a pair of plain Levi's that you bought at the store. In a 50 mph slide the difference between kevlar denim and textile motorcycle pants is spending weeks in the hospital having skin grafts done or being able to get up and walk away. Personally I choose to spend the extra money now and not spend thousands at the hospital later.

Every thing I've read says do not cheap out on boots or gloves. The top injuries received during a crash is broke shin bones from hitting pegs, broken ankles, and broken knuckles. On boots buy motorcycle specific boots with built in shin protectors and they must provide lateral ankle support. Here's what I'm wanting to get http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/a...rs-smx-6-boots. For gloves, you're better off not buying gloves with carbon fiber knuckle protectors because carbon fiber has a tendency to shatter, buy gloves with plastic knuckle protectors.

For pants, again buy motorcycle specific pants. They will not only provide better knee protection then what you posted but they will also provide hip protection and a lot better abrasion resistance. In a slide you will spend most of your time on your side or your back, areas where those GI pants won't protect you.

Imo, while leather does provide you the best abrasion resistance, leather jackets don't breath and get really hot fast especially during late spring to early fall. A quality textile jacket will still provide you ample protection during street applications and will keep you a lot cooler during the hot months.
About the gloves , that's the first time I've ever heard that (Carbon Fiber) and I've been riding for 30 odd years . Yes I do know Carbon Fiber generally shatters on impact. I have a couple pair of gloves with Carbon Fiber Knuckles . Granted I've never crash tested them and don't really plan on it . Most people when they crash reach out with there hands . Your fingers and palms generally hit first because human instinked is to break your fall. You want to find a pair of gloves that have a built in slider at the wrist example would be Gloves made by Knox .Here is a good video
http://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/kn...ack-white-v14/ I have 4 different pairs of gloves but I'm using the Handroid Pod gloves pretty much all the time . The Kangaroo skin leather in the palms is awesome .

My first bike was a 1000.
before that I had just rode quads which is a whole different animal.

At first I took it super slow and had a hard time laying it over to turn.........after riding a couple months I was a pro........and 600 feel small and flimsy.......

At the time I didn't know what I was getting into.........after I bought it and researched it I loved what it was..........a TL1000R..........rare sport v twin with a distinctively exhaust note..........I don't think I'll ever sell it.........but I'm thinking of buying an R1.

Rebel that's terrible bro. I hope you recovered and all is well.

I found a 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale Tricolore and it's got one hell of a grip on me.

I think I'm doomed.

Not me lol. I used to be into motocross, and rode them on the street a little, but haven't gotten into street bikes yet. Those Panigales are badass, but I hear they are extremely uncomfortable. Check out the BMW S1000rr

I also agree that you may be doomed. You ask for advice on gear then tell the people that give you good advice from their experience they should look into gear that is designed for doing things that have nothing to do with riding. It seems you don't actually want advice but that you want someone to back up your opinions. I wish the best of luck to you.

I wouldn't recommend a 150hp+ bike for a first bike either lol. Death wish.
