The Cayman S really is a great car, i would be picking up the used one here for 30k if it werent for 2 reasons.

A) its not very practical for me (small trunks) and
B) insurance would suck

hopefully GM pays attention to this and offers a track pack ASAP for the camaro now

not really. The Cayman is mid-engine, while the 911 is rear engine... So the Cayman will provide the more neutral and balanced steering feel.

Yes, because it couldn't be that I have actually have some experience in the matter or that the things I and countless other state are wrong with GM product are actually accurate.

I know a slew of pro and semi pro drivers, and not one would consider outright speed the primary measure of how great a car is, I guarantee it. And yet, both GM and their fans continue to wonder why their company cannot sell ever faster versions of cars with terrible interiors and absolutely terrifying handling to enthusiasts?

Cars like the Vette and Camaro have a cool factor for sure, but they need to be better, and in some areas they need to be a lot better. Part of the reason GM went bankrupt is that they just did not understand where they fell short compared to the competition, and I firmly believe some of that can be blamed on a fan/customer base which was willing to accept, in many cases, astounding cost cutting measures, shortcomings, etc so long as they got their 400hp V8, etc.

But please, do keep on thinking that the world is out to get GM and that the ZR1's sixth place finish in this comparo is strictly a result of bias.

I didn't agree with almost ALL of what they said in that test. Nor did I agree with their choices for cars. For instance, I'd bet that the Corvette would have scored higher if it wasn't a ZR1...because apparently, they thought it was "too powerful".

The thing that especially irked me about this article...is that it's almost entirely SUBJECTIVE...they even said so. So their placement was based on nothing factual...

Well it kind of has to be subjective to be a 'driver's car' comparison. They have other comparisons that determine ultimate performance capability, like the 6 600hp+ car shootout. For instance, a Cooper S is amongst the most fun vehicles you can treat yourself to driving (imho)- but it wouldn't be a blip on the ultimate performance test.

I think C&D's big yearly test at VIR which is almost all objective should suit you better.

Well, I suppose I should have worded that better. I have no problem with the subjectivity, everyone's entitled to an opinion, even car reviewers...but I don't think that this sort of an article can declare a "winner". You know what I mean?

I agree that everything was subjective... but then again so is electing a president.

You just take the subjective majority to ''declare a 'winner''', which is what they seemed to have done.

The Cayman is a MUCH BETTER car than the 911. Porsche Purposely holds it back so as not to upset the 911 crowd and owners. The Caymans colors truly shine once you put a little work into it as well. i turned my dads cayman S into a 350 HP car rather than 295 HP, and it is as perfect as any car i have driven
