Is this a joke?

Saw this today on the web:

With GM's Australian subsidiary Holden ceasing production in Australia by the end of 2017, the future of the Chevrolet SS, which is based on the Holden VF Commodore, is uncertain. Holden has hinted that there will be a next-generation Commodore-badged vehicle, but we're wondering if Chevrolet's next low-volume four-door performance flagship could be a redesigned version of the next-gen Camaro.

I hope that GM knows what they're doing. Holden has always been a favorite of mine. I've always wanted a Ute... ( an UTE? )
I wonder what the fate of HSV is.

That's a business decision , and the reason is not having big enough sales numbers
Just because you and probably thousands upon thousands like you , ( Holden has always been a favorite of mine ) but never make the move

If they have sold to those who wanted , they might be keep on going !

Due to the production costs and exchange rates, both GM and Ford are shutting down all their Australian production. But this is not news, this has been in the works for several years. The current SS will die when it's plant closes. As far as I know, GM hasn't announced anything about a replacement or which vehicles they will be importing to Australia.

The 5th gen Camaro is basically a Chevrolet SS with a shorter wheelbase. Both cars are based on the Zeta platform. If there is a next-gen Chevrolet SS, I assume it will be a long wheelbase Alpha platform car (same as Cadillac ATS, CTS and 6th gen Camaro).
