No Meatships in the GM ranks
The more you watch the show, the more you realize they poke fun at everyone, and they love stereotypes, regardless of whether they are remotely accurate or not. They did a show a few years ago in the US, and, as usual, they look for things to make fun of whether they are accurate or not. For instance, they complained about the low speed limit on a well known "drivers road" in the US (can't remember where it was). This is no different than similar roads in other countries, but since they couldn't find anything legitimate to complain about they whined about the speed limit. All in all they make fun of most everyone equally, I find it to be a well written show.

I like their humor in the show also. Main point here is that the Stingray finally measured up to their standard without any caveats. Job well done by team Corvette. I can't wait for the gen6 Camaro to do the same

Me too if it happens! Clarkson liked the ZR1's performance but couldn't help put call it "cheap." Him not finding anything negative to say about the Stingray is high praise. I think he may be really impressed with the Z06...or they may not review it for fear of it out performing their beloved Porches, Mercs and GTR.

Not just one war.

But while many Brits cling to the idea that they are impartial, I find that some resent Americans with very little humor attached to it when they can get a chance. I worked for one once, and here's an example:

We did some work for Dassault. I mentioned something about a region in France while talking to him about the project. I said it in the American way, so it rhymed with "pants" more or less.

He immediately corrected me by mimicking my voice, and then pronouncing it twice, in the French pronunciation: "Fronce".

I said "I studied the French language for eight years and I know how they say it. But I ain't French and neither are you so let's not play pretend."

I also used to like mentioned to him that I had no English ancestry, just Scottish, up with the Saltire. He was a tough bird, I saw him with an injury that was breathtaking one day, he didn't make a peep about it, just asked me to dig around in his palm and try to remove the object, and then he took it.

Worked himself to death, died waiting for a plane at Heathrow. Heart attack.

Clarkson on may occasions mentioned he loved the corvette. When he drove the ZR1, he made fun of the peek-a-boo hood and the fact the back is fiberglass floppy.

He stated it was the best sports car for the money in a magazine.

Here is the Z06 review.

they'll probably take it around their test track on a wet day like they always seem to do with cars that could cause some upsets.

I saw that episode it was pretty good. I was surprised myself. The whole time I watched it I was thinking to myself "wait for it".

I too can't wait to see them test the ZO6.

The one that will probably make them really butt hurt is the Zora ZR1 if it's half of what we are hoping there will be many European tears shed...
