just ask them what is good for a beginner. they should be really helpful

Some amps have the effects station on them and they have drum machines, but they'd be a little expensive. I would just get one of these effects pedals that have all the effects like distortion, blues, clean, acoustic etc, and the drum machine:

just make sure they know what they are talking about. if you get some noob who is just trying to make a sale, get rid of him and move on to someone with a little more experience. you should be able to tell if what they are selling you is actually for you skill level

Thats good for a starter , pretty much like mine , cept mine is blue , but when you learn you will prob want a better fender or gibson , that 1 is prob made in korea or tiland , the US one get a bit pricey but much better made too
