I may order some wheelie bars. Once the weather warms up and the tires get sticky....

Yeah, well, I was really speaking to those who do not know what to expect from installing the VTC... like OP, for instance. Once you get used to it, obviously, you can set it wherever is comfortable. OP hasn't even ordered it yet and was asking for advise on installing it to where it (basically) isn't readily adjustable. I recommended against it.

You can also unplug the remote after you choose your best setting.

Only need the remote if you need to change the setting again.

Maybe a dumb question - I assume the unit shuts off (display) when car is turned off???

Interesting. I didn't do a very thorough examination of the whole unit, but I didn't see anything easily unpluggable.

That is a good question, as I was wondering this as well. . . I have read about all the threads on the VTC and don't believe anyone touched on it . . . that I can recall.

It has been recommended to unplug the Ranger AFM module if your not going to drive for a week or so,(which I do) as it will slowly drain the battery. Whats the skivvy on the VTC? Does it draw any pwr when the vehicle is off?

I tried setting mine to SP09 and removing the remote and it went back to SP0 when I tested it. When I plugged the remote back in it was at SP0 so I assumed removing the remote would not work. So you should be able to set the controller and remove the remote and it will keep the setting?

is the remote wire long enough to run it through the center console.

Will this void your warranty?

no. all it does is make it seem like you gave it more throttle than you did. more throttle for less movement of the pedal.

Technically, any mod could void your warranty if it was found to cause a specific problem. Best bet with the VTC is to remove it (simple) or tuck it out of sight (even simpler) if you go in for warranty issues.
