Its a nice car but how many of you would buy one with money ? I would not pay 50 grand for that car.

I would

Whats the comparison for 50k? GT500, LS3 Vette, used CTS-V...

Id take the Cayman for the pure driving expirience. Then the V.

2. R8. Car has amazing handling with a TON of power.

3. ZR1. I cant imagine how this much power in a car that weighs that little should be anything but amazing.

4. CTS-V. M5 but better.

5. 2010 GT500. With its new upgrades to handling, I could see how this car (with its already amazing power) could beat out handling cars like the Z and miata.
I have to agree with you, There's a reason that you dont find much variety in porsche body styles, they've got handling and suspension about as close as you can get to perfection. so why go changing something thats not broken. Every review Ive read, and watched about the R8 always showcases its amazing power, and ability to get through curves using it. The ZR1, well if you looked at the stats alone, you'd clearly think it was the winner. its an amazing car. They openly admit this as well, but you need an expert driver behind the wheel.

Porsche is so accomplished already that I am sure they find it insulting and humorous when people like Nissan make a big deal about beating the 911 around a track. Its like, "silly nissan. when will you ever learn? we build cars for the expirience, not the lap times" ... besides. If you want to get really specific go look up the results for the nurburgring 24 hour race. They can build race cars as well.

I suppose it really depends on how you define a drivers car. Drive anyone of those cars at the pace the Miata managed, and you would be at maybe 60% through most of the course, and never test the limits of any of them. The fact that the Miata has SO much less to offer in terms of performance means it is easier to drive, and harder to get out of line. Not much fun or challenge there.

This reminds me of drift competitions-it is not even a race, which means it is all subjective. These guys claim to be race car drivers, but then they whine about how hard it is to drive a ZR1. You certainly don't see any actual race car drivers give the victory speech, and then say, "I was scared because the car was too fast." LOL. Ok guys, I guess you are the type who drive in the left lane with your blinker on doing 10mph below the speed limit.

I don't even mind the results for the Camaro much (although I disagree), but seriously, where are these drivers that would rather have a Miata than a ZR1? Put a throttle stop at 50% on it if you can't handle it.

Alright, I'm an unapologetic Ford guy and anybody here who had read one of my posts knows it. That said, I appreciate cars which are really, really good at what they do and as such, I am also a closet Porsche enthusiast.

Anybody who can rank these cars in order of speed is, and I am just being honest, is not a very accomplished driver. The experience is at least as important as speed and a Cayman S makes you feel like friggin' superman....believe it.

The reason I put the ZR1 in front of the Cayman S is because it forces you to drive better. Yeah the Cayman S makes you feel like superman but the ZR1 makes you drive like him too. I'm all about a challenge so if the ZR1 is the hardest to drive without being ridiculously impossible AND the fastest then that's the best car IMO.

This was funny...cuz it's true!

And I'd buy a Porsche with real money if I had disposable income to do so. I already have a garage designed in my head with floor to ceiling murals of Corvettes winning races on one side and Porsches winning races on the other....

And as far as the Miata- I have driven one. I have to say, they're a blast on real roads. You have a point about other cars having more potential, but the glory of the Miata is that you can drive it at 80% and not go to prison. Also it's steering feels great and connected. It reminds me of all the good points about the old alfa spyders with none of the negatives. You don't have to go 200 to have a great little car.

Also wanted to add, these drivers test they have every year place a very high premium on steering feel. They go on about how easy it is to place a car at a specific spot and feedback etc. And if there is anything that they always rave about in Porsches- it's that. Which isn't necessarily the same as being the fastest.

Correct .. I don't think being the fastest has a lot to do with it ... good point!

Another backhanded insult...thanks again for the input. If only we were all as accomplished as you, oh lord of internet racing.
