Hell, it was the same with the M's. I remember going to Kingdome games that looked like minor league games. Then Griffey started hitting homers and the fans came out of nowhere.

Glad you have been a fan because 3\4 of who you see now wasn't there then.
It's true. Weirdest fact about Steve Largent: No one ever saw him play a game.

Nobody said that there aren't plenty of those of you who have been diehards. My point is that there are WAY more running around now that weren't back in 1992 to 1998 when I lived there. When I visited recently I saw 5 times the Seahawks colors on people that I had EVER seen back then. If you didn't have your core diehards you'd have lost the Seahawks long ago.

Most of the fans we're seeing are bandwagoners. Or at least weren't openly supportive 20 years ago.

That's the way any team would be when winning comes around after losing for a long time.

Reviewed game films from both Conference title games over last couple nights (yes I know I have a problem) and I think instead of wondering if/how Patriots let air out of balls that were meaningless I would focus on how in the world Seattle QB Russell Wilson was allowed back in the game after that atrocious and ILLEGAL hit by Packers LB Matthews.

Wilson was clearly very confused and unbalanced after that hit and it was not until the late 4th quarter that he seemed to get a handle on himself. Maybe Seattle tested him on sideline (I have no idea, not much time before Seattle got ball back and limited sideline camera views) but to me on film he did not look like he should have been on a football field. That's dangerous.

Ballsy ass kid though, he fought it all off and came up very big.

Before you freak that I am a Patriots homer, I would point out this also happened with Ben Rothlisberger (spelling?) in the wild card game vs Ravens. That guy was F'd up big time and Steelers didn't even do a check, that much was clear on abundant sideline film.

Agreed....

There is something different now though, it is the reason there are so many newcomers. The way the Hawks have (included) the fans in everything, it is like the 12's are a part of the team. This is something the NFL and other teams need to look at in the future if they want to be successful and very profitable.

Look at how many 12's showed up today, took Chase field by surprise, they were totally unprepared. It took an hour and a half just to get in the gates, gotta say being smashed up with that may people for that long was starting to wear thin! No idea the count, but wow!

Estimates are coming in at around twenty five thousand 12's.
