Seems like the choice between the two is more of a win/win than a win/lose.

I wouldn't kick either one out of my garage.

A friend just ordered a manual Cat and is uncertain if he is making the right choice. My advice was get the auto if you want to be fast, get the manual if you want to have fun and scare the sh!t out of yourself.

Just checking, but we (as a whole) are still without manual times are we not?

Think so. But As much as I prefer manual over Auto, I would order my HC auto since the torque management on Dodge are crazy and untunable. That auto trans is great too. Best would be to order a manual and tune it out with a programmer but pcm cant be cracked. WTF is their problem. The only automaker in the world like this...

No real life info on the manuals at all. I have a six speed on order but I waver everyday of switching to an A8 Hellcat Challenger or just going with the Hellcat Charger.

If I don't see something good soon I will probably jump to one of the "autocats."

I can give up a few tenths but it may be much much worse than that I fear.

I don't want to own the slowest 707 HP car in history...

I already know the A8 will kick ass but the 6 speed is very suspect.

Can a real owner take a 6 speed Hellcat to the track PLEASE!!

So C&D ran an 11.4@128 on a cold track with the A8. Pulled a .94g LA as well, not bad for a 4600# car on skinnies!

Dont worry about it, as my signature (a quote from here) my GT500 is pretty worthless.

A few tenths dont bother me at all. Get the manual.

Looks like it's a little bit too much power for some:

I'm disappointed they didn't set some lap times with Randy behind the wheel... I'm also surprised that the Hellcat was only 0.05 seconds faster on what was basically a straight line "road course"

I'm not sure you want to see it. Theres a reason why they are avoiding track test. The Hellcat Charger only handle with the likes of an EcoBoost Mustang, Subaru WRX and a BMW M235i around the streets of willow with Randy behind the wheel. The Challenger will result in the same maybe slower.

Exactly, but I want to see a number to see where it actually stands. This is 2015 where car tests no longer are just 0-60 & 1/4 mile, but also track times. They still did the 1/4 times for the Z/28, which obviously was not made for drag racing.

No it won't beat the ZL1 on a track where maybe .01% of owners will ever take their car regardless of brand, however it will beat the ZL1 on the street where most everyone with a performance car will play from time to time, and also at the strip which is a much more popular venue even for the ZL1.

Dodge didn't build this to set lap times, it built the car to be the King of the Streets/Strip.
