Yep, I do that also... It's especially funny when they have their window open and it flies in there....

and by doing that, this is what you end up with.

I downshift and slow down until they move over, then go back to regular speed and just laugh while they complain. If they don't like that, they should have thought about that beforehand?

To clean the windshield from obstructed vision while driving.
While you may think it's funny to overspray the following car, your also overspraying your car, and removing wax/sealant on your clearcoat.

.

only if your putting Windex in your car. the stuff you buy at the parts section has no ammonia in it and is safe for car finishes.

anyhow, I just ignore them. and to all the brake checkers, better be careful. you cause an accident doing that and your going to get the ticket.

So true; not to mention, in the past some people that got brake checked intentionally "couldn't stop in time."

If I'm not in the passing lane and I'm tailgated my philosophy is to not change my driving behavior in any way.

What is this "fast lane" I keep reading about? I assume people are referring to the left lane, which should be used for passing other vehicles only. It doesn't matter how fast you're traveling. If you're not passing a vehicle, you're in the wrong lane.

+1

If everyone drove this way our traffic would flow so much better. Until then its a free for all out there. So many selfish idiots.

In my Dad's silverado I feel like I go the same speed limit and people tailgate / cut me off way more often driving the truck than my car at the same speed. Often when people tail gate me I either slow down or step on the brake ;]

But man, the snowbirds right now in Gilbert all think it's polite to drive 35-40 in a 50 zone... LIkE SERIOUSLY!

If I'm going about 60 and get tailgated I gradually slow down to as slow as 30, but as soon as I see their blinkers and they try to pass I'll speed back up. Then once traffic is in the way again on the single lane road I always have to drive on, I'll slow down again if they repeat the tailgating. Occasionally I'll let them pass and then drive with the brights on behind them, especially if they were doing this to me.

I'll admit I brake checked one guy over and over because he got me really angry, I flashed my lights at him to let him know he was going 40 in a 60 zone, then he proceeded to slow down when I was nowhere near tailgating... then we got to this round about on the single lane and he stops instead of yielding and just waits for traffic. Then right before the traffic gets there he takes off and gets me stuck with the traffic... luckily only him and I took the same road so I took off, cut him off and slammed on my brakes in front of him about three times and before passing him flickered my brights over and over. He finally just stopped his car and waited for me to leave, that was the only time I really acted in road rage and damn guy was driving a prius so that was already a bad way to start.
I usually don't like to brake check anyone, too risky for your car, your life and the lives of those around you... but this was a special situation and nobody was around when I did this. I still see the guy everywhere around town because his prius was beaten up real bad, he's obviously been in a lot of accidents that I'm sure were all his fault. Had different color doors and everything

Lot of people are uncomfortable behind trucks. They look slower, you can't see in front of them, and rear ending them is way worse for the car than the truck. At least I think that's why they do it... Maybe they're just checking out the camaro

road rage is playing russian roulette around here you're more likely to get shot at or arrested. if you haven't learned that I guarantee you will. as far as tailgaters the one car length per 10mph just doesn't work in reality ( you gap and someone takes the space, rinse and repeat ) you'll end up going in reverse but when stopped you should be able to see the bottom of the rear tires of the vehicle in front of you. I have no idea how some people even get a drivers license ( hello DMV ) but on the other hand in this area it is well known that a large number of drivers are on a suspended, revoked or no DL at all. in defense of nanny cars ( self-driving ) they have at least one positive - if it gets rid on the minivan soccer moms with the phone glued to the ear. these nice ladies are so deep in conversation that driving is obviously an afterthought. *I've now vented enough for the entire year*

Tailgating has only recently become my biggest road pet peeve (and, related, pulling right up on my ass when I'm stopped at a redlight)
At a stop light I've had to take off and run the red because some idiot was coming in fast behind me and definitely not gonna stop. I was in the middle lane and in the right lane before I finished passing the intersection and right after crossing the line they flew by me at least going 50, probably faster and in a 45 zone. Another time I honked for about 5 seconds when they came up fast and were looking down (probably at their phones) and they quickly looked up and I heard brakes screeching. Hopefully they learn their lesson without ruining their car or killing someone, but I'm sure the lady was back up to her bad habits by the next time she got in the car. I should've gotten out and confiscated her phone.
