I think this could be a good product if JLT would supply their base MAF calibrations as a starting point for tuning.

I see what you're saying , but the maf recal is a cake walk to perform .. Any competent tuner can handle it.

Exactly, if a tuner can't spend a few minutes tweaking the maf curve for a slightly bigger intake, you need to find a new tuner ASAP.

JLT makes good stuff.

Thanks for posting these results, it's good to read some real world results that people have had.

We're looking into becoming forum vendors to get some info out on our intake systems and other thing's we offer for the Gen 5 Camaro's.

I had only been 1.5 laps at VIR south course and missed the other 13 or so that we were allowed to run. Luckily he gave me my money back. He tried to say the computer needed time to relearn, but I wasn't going to wait to find out and I don't plan on tuning my car for a while. I was a little disappointed with the quality. The hole into the air box was a lot bigger than the tube, the rubber pipe that attached to the throttle body fit too lose for my comfort (had to tighten clamp until fear of breaking), and the filter rubbed on the hood. I'm sure with a tune though and a larger throttle body it would produce some good results.
Can you speak to some of the issues dtwolcot2 had with the unit -- especially fitment on the stock 87 mm TB. I notice all of your marketing photos/videos show a ZL1 with a 90 mm TB installed.

Before I'd consider replacing my current intake with your product, I'd like to see what the gains are when connected to the stock TB.

Getting the JLT intake to play nice with the automatic is tough. I used a transmission tuning specialist and it took a lot of data logging to get it half assed. The tune still needs more work to act similar to stock. I think there may be some horsepower gains to be had on a big hp engine with a 102 or bigger TB.
..... I haven't gone faster with it on.

Well first and foremost our intakes ABSOLUTELY need a tune! Luckily for him the car did go into limp mode before he was picking up pieces in hog pen at VIR..yesshhh

As for the TB fitment, we've tested this intake on 3 ZL1's our selves and have sold quite a few kits and have yet to have any issue with TB fitment.

As for the heat shield hole, there is roughly 1/2" around the tube to keep you from scratching the painted tube during install and any time you remove the intake for work.

As for the filter hitting the hood, we personally haven't seen that problem, if ti was close there should be enough room to rotate the intake tube in the coupler and enough room in the heat shield to get the filter down in the engine bay. With it being a used kit sold to him as a kit that didn't need a tune...there is no telling what the guy did to it.

I'm sorry you've had issues with this.

I spoke with Jay about this and he recalls your problems.

We've tuned our intake with SCT and HP tuners software without any issues. This is going to be very dependent on the tuner and what he's comfortable with tuning.

We're actually looking to do another test on another ZL1 in house, we're going to becoming vendors here and want to post as much info as possible with results on multiple cars.

I thought you were looking for other transmission tuning options back in September as well.
