On another note...I'm very depressed to see that so many Americans would buy a Japanese vehicle over a perfectly good US-based car. :( Is is lack of information? Lack of...patriotism...lack of common sense? I just don't get it.

Perception. Stupidity.

People are unwilling to give GM and Ford another chance even though toyotas and hondas were pieces of crap back then too. And they're still pieces of crap right now.

Americans have forgotten what a car is all about...they see cars as appliances, something to get you from point A to point B. There's no soul or passion in driving for Americans anymore. That's why they buy bland, soulless cars like the camry or prius.
