Netflicks or DVDs for me.

I've gotten a little cranky at times... at one showing recently, I lost my shit over this dim idiot in front of us who had paid perfectly good money to admit herself to a movie she had no desire to see... she was way more interested in textin' every 60 seconds or so, using her freakin' 39 inch iPad or tablet or whatever... and, she apparently had lousy eyesight, because in order to read the f'n thing she had to hold it UP UP UP... up HIGH in order to see dat thang.

I was patient for the first 20 times, but lost it shortly after. Sure, I COULD have politely asked for her to please respect the viewing conditions of other moviegoers, but from her actions with the 1/4 acre of tablet, and her loud banter with her friend, I just had a feeling that the subtle approach wasn't going to be effective. So sue me... I stood up, and loudly demanded that she put the f'n thing away right g'd now.

There were a few "amens" from behind, and a few "oh- my- God, that- guy- is- a- lunatic!"s too.

But that freak DID put her personal movie screen away, and the rest of the movie was viewable by all.

She made sure to scream obscenities and wave her middle finger around out in the parking lot. I let her have that one, being no longer concerned with her.

But, yeah, that's how going to the movies often is these days. Talking, kicking the seats (I ALWAYS sit in the back row, mostly to avoid that), cell phones and tablets waving around, people who stink, and even things being thrown. My kids were being pelted with popcorn a while back, and if I had been able to figure out who was getting off on wrecking a movie- going experience for two little kids, I would have ripped their heads off and shit down their necks. Don't piss a dad off, especially not this one. But, it was impossible to figure out the source of said popcorn.

I getcha, Angrybird...

Have not gone in 15 years for that reason. Invested in home theater set up over that time little by little and now I have my own private screening room. No annoying people I can pause when I want to pee or get a snack. Blueray movies on 110" screen with 4000 watts pushing through 9.2 channels it's pure heaven.

I just read that Sony is going to release the movie to YouTube as a pay per view.

At this point, just release the friggin' movie. Once it's out anywhere, because of you tube, it will be everywhere.

Now think, just in this thread how many people have said "now they have to see it", see it's working, there profits on this will be huge because of this.

And do people still think this whole thing wasn't fabricated to promote ticket sales? Because it sure worked with record number sales.

Agreed... Anybody going to a Rogan/ Franco flick should expect to find fart/ penis/ ****** jokes in abundance, and deep, meaningful emotion, well, not so much. Critics have panned it, of course, but, critics are generally offended by the scatological/ sexual humor, because critics are WAY too sophisticated and refined for what the filthy unwashed general public might snicker at.

I liked it... two thumbs and a nuclear missile up.

I saw it as well and thought it was funny. Its also obvious that it in no way should be seen as an accurate depiction of North Korea or Kim Jong Un. It is what it was intended to be a complete comedy that one would expect from a Rogan\Franco movie.

Finished 15th on Christmas day. Only $1 million in sales..................of course 750,000 illegal downloads at $5 a pop would have changed that a bit if they had been legal downloads.

From a business sense point of view I'm sure anyone associated in earning money with the release of the film will gladly take any extra publicity they can get to put folks in theater seats.

However I don't think anyone had a plan for the way the political drama attached itself like a blood sucking parasite to what is nothing more than a simple Hollywood comedy which expected a meager response at best when they first made it. Honestly nobody wanted to be the next chapter in this U.S. vs North Korea crap. They'll gladly take the attention and money though.

Yeah, they didn't make nearly as much as they would have, had they released the movie in theaters. I would have spent 2 movie tickets to see this, instead, I paid 4.99 on xbox to rent it.
