So there was a curve in the road ahead which caused the Hellcat to implode and lose control?

I'm impressed that no one was hurt - says a lot for safety features.

Dodge should probably sell these cars only with the BLACK key initially, then after six months you can return to the dealer and pick up your RED key (if the car's still unscathed).

It says careless driving not reckless, in order to get a reckless driving charge a officer would need to see you. (sources: my dads a cop)

But your right he did something wrong.

No matter what happens his Insurance will give him the full value of a car. I work for Insurance and if your car is under a year old you get the price you paid back.

I'm not sure if they'll pay the mark up price however. If he payed a $25,000 mark up he may be screwed.

You're right, pools are much easier to land on than trees.

Yeah - that all can't stop cockpit error, if this was the case.

Wonder if he was using the red key? Not that it would matter... even my SS can get loose at speed when the tires/road are cold.

I'm gonna give this guy a little benefit of doubt. At 34, and able to afford a Hellcat, I seriously doubt this was his first adventure in high output cars. He's probably been down this road in something fast a hundred times, just this time, the car suprised him, I could see 700 ponies doing that.

That said, I love to watch vids of R&T, C&D, and MT drivers whipping cars sideways around corners. It looks like a blast. I also know that I have not the experience nor access to the places where I can get that experience safely and inexpensively. So I don't try it on public roads. I know enough that things happen before you know it's happening.
