ANY 650+ HP car is going to be hard to launch correctly with the factory tires.

A set of sticky 315 DR's on a A8 Hellcat is going to be murder on the street..

The biggest upgrade to the Hellcat before a tune or pulleys is going to be DR's and when those 1/4 mile numbers come back some are going to say "oh but it is Modified"
I don't see tires as a mod as much as some do.

The Hellcat twins won't even need DR's. Challenger 11.2s, Charger 11.0s on stock tires. NHRA certified.

You better bring a 55 gal drum of VHT with you to duplicate that.

I'm sure that was a very sticky prepped surface for those times.

To me, tires are not a mod, they are a wear item that is replaced several times during the life of the vehicle.

IMO anything that's done to a factory ( STOCK ) car taken straight off the lot and modified in anyway to achieve better times is a modded. All though I'm up in the air about something like tire pressure. Is that modding?

I agree 100%. This isn't the SVT site. DRs are a mod, if they didn't come standard on the vehicle when purchased new they were a modification. I see this all the time on the other site, owners claiming record stock times failing to mention that the pass was on DRs, or lightweight wheels and DRs. With a high HP car like a Hellcat or 13/14 500 DRs/wheels, could be a huge advantage and might be worth as much as 6-8 tenths.

I still love seeing that the Hellcat is being run against the stingray. Sure it's only a straight line, but what else do you need a car like this for?
