Great motor, dumb car

For me its just as important to have a car that can handle as make lots of power. 707 HP and Mopar put ZERO thought into the suspension. I think Honda's come with bigger and better tires. (Joke). Great motor, stupid car. Your going to see a lot of these looking like this one. Sad to say. If your going to go Mopar, then Viper all the way.

No surprise here at all. This happens with almost every high performance car. Someone will buy it and immediately put the hammer down to see what it's got.

There are some people that speculate the long 'official' break in period for the ZL1 is in part, to break in the driver, not the car. Drive it moderately for a while to get used to the abilities of the car before exploring the limits of it.

Happened 10 minutes from where I live. On Riverdale road in Thornton Colorado... This road is awfully curvy and I have yet to take serious speeds around there in my Z. Considering a hellcat had way less handling capability then any other muscle car this is just a case of too much money not enough brains. It was about 29-32 degrees that night too. Those summer Tires must of been rocks at that point

I agree to little of tires for that much hp so sad I drive my Z in those temps but I don't even think about pushing the car like I do in the summer you just have to control your right foot or leave it in the garage till spring or until you get used to the power!!!!

The summer tires are an option and not standard on the Hellcats.

These are powerful cars ! We all can agree on that ! People need to be taught to drive them before they buy them! Or there are going to be a lot of hurt people out there !

People just need to understand with as much horsepower that we are running.... Or any high horsepower car that sometimes the smallest mistake in judgment can lead to this.... Just glad no one was seriously injured....

So true. You can't just stab your foot to the floor and expect everything will be ok. Especially in cold temps. Especially with that chassis, tire and engine combination.

That suck, but it makes you wonder how many of these drivers have any experience with high hp cars. A lot of it is just common sense combined with experience. At some point insurance companies will stop insuring these type of cars because of stuff like this.

How about leaving traction control on not using the high power key fob and getting to know the car that your unfamiliar with before pushing it ..learn what its characteristics are ..not to mention performance tires on a cold colorado road in winter ...COMMON SENSE IS NOT SO COMMON !!!! I own a 700+rwhp car its a handful and its built to go around a track ..cant imagine driving 600 hp on those tires on that size car on cold roads ..
