Wrecked Hellcat

wrecked Hellcat moments after leaving a dealer in Colorado! Apparently 707hp was too much for this guy...

Not good for any of us. Insurance on performance cars is high enough as it is.

Exactly. Why is it that some people assume they can drive ANYthing, much less a 707 HP monster with way too skinny tires?

I found out he hit a tree. He lost control on a curve and smashed into a tree on the side of the road. See the article for more pictures of the scene!

I told my buddy that It wouldn't take long to start seeing these totaled and I'm pretty sure this isn't the first one. I hope the person made it out ok.

The driver mod can be such a poor choice sometimes...

Poor Hellcat; the car deserved better.

The pictures of the skid marks tell the story of what happened to this poor car. The owner came over the rise too fast and panicked. You can see the first set of rubber tracks that show this. Next, he over corrected, lost control and planted that beautiful beast right into the trees.

Clearly the car was too much for him. Very sad.

I figured that as well by the pics.

Cold narrow tires didn't help his cause.

Those things have 275/40/20 rears which isn't enough tire for the power and weight.

That sucks.

I hate how the article self-righteously talks about money spent and if you can't handle blah blah, as if experienced pro drivers never crashed. Granted, it does seem overwhelmingly likely that the driver was exceeding many things including the speed limit, but then again it is true that you don't need to be breaking laws to crash a car. I find the smug and world-weary tones of that sort of thing disgusting- the driver is already beating himself up more than any Wordsmith behind a PC screen can.
