Trunk Leak :-(

Anyone had a problem with water pooling inside the trunk after rain? Right corner only closest to tail lights....can't figure out where it's coming from...

wirebender,

My apologies regarding your displeasing trunk leak. I realize how frustrating it can be when trying to determine from where and why this is occurring. We can document that you're experiencing this without being able to currently narrow it down. By all means, please be sure to keep us updated on this or if you'd like assistance with coordinating an official GM diagnosis. Don't hesitate to contact us anytime with additional questions.

Kindly,

William R.

Check you sunroof drains, I had the same problem the hoses that run to the truck came lose and well the truck flooded.

the drains are at the front of the trunk

This was my first thought, also.

You can see the drains with the trunk open, outside the seal. The line runs at the top of the trunk, make sure one of them didn't get unhooked from inside the trunk.

Wow. Thanks. I had no idea those were there! I turned it slightly to better allow gravity to work and made sure the tube was inserted good. I will keep an eye on it and check again next time it rains!

Thanks a lot guys! Love this site...so helpful and lots of good people sharing their experience!

Had that same issue with mine but not from rain, from washing it. It end up being the brake light wires bunching up on the right trunk seal. My dealer replaced the trunk seal and now no issues.

Let us know what you find out.

I had the exact same issue with the brake light cable getting cought in the seal and letting rain in. They fixed the cable and replaced the trunk matt so there would be no mildew smell. This was about two years a go, and I made a FYI thread about it.
